Submerged
Free Verse

Why do I feel grief as if the moon were submerged in the depths of the sea?
The shallows are mocking me, and this starless sky withholds every dream.
I feel the pull of darker depths, but they remain unseen — so what shall I follow if I cannot see the path before me?
I hear the sound of disintegrated dust, but they remain unheard — so what shall I sing if my voice rings hollow like an empty grave?
I see a masterpiece like a destiny decreed, but it has no home, no place to land, no significance in the eyes of the crowd — so how should I rise if what I desire has no place in the world?
Is my soul an illusion, nothing more than a tragic story drowning in rain?
Is my mind only a whirlpool of destruction that reduces everything priceless into sunken ships?
Submerged, I walk as if stones were bound to my feet — I just want to know if there is another way, but that will have to wait for another day.
