This is local news in Raleigh, NC that has become national. I had to share this because there are so many concerns over the incidents that took place at this high school by a 14 and 15 year old.

This has been something that has really hit hard and hurts my heart because two lives are taken. One mother will be burying their child and another mother will losing their child to the judicial system.

What Happened?

There have been many speculations about a 14 year old being bullied by a 15 year old constantly. The 14 year old was afraid and based on several news articles and the video that is circulating all around, decided to take up for himself this day. He bought a knife to school in fear of his life. The 15 year old punched the 14 year old in the face and the 14 year old began to stab him. Then the fight went into the gym and there were a group of students that began to pound on the 14 year old. He began to stab at everyone who was pounding on him.

Where Are the Adults?

This is a great question and one that I am asking. How is it that there were so many students in the hallway during school hours and then entered into an opened gymnasium. This is mind-blowing because there should have been someone breaking this up before it began. Throughout the full video and among the over 20 students that were excited to see a fight, there were no school administration to be seen.

Final Thoughts about the incident

As a mother, I couldn’t imagine what either is feeling. My thoughts are if there was bullying going on, which I feel was the issue, why was nothing done about it. I am sure the 14 year old’s mother informed the school, but as you can see nothing was done. Now, this is just my opinion. Where are the metal detectors? Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School is the largest high school in this area with over 2500 students and more. Therefore, many of these students come from urban, low-income areas and live in an area that has crime around. Why wouldn’t the schools want all students to be safe from any crime and have metal detectors? This is a question that many are asking. A mother have to bury their child and another mother’s child is possibly going to be charged as an adult.

This is a very sad situation.
