Strumming The Blues Away
That is exactly what every string instrument player does
As a little girl, I started learning classical Indian music. Those days I had an old guruji nearly 60 years of age who came every alternate day on his cycle from an hour away to teach me singing along with playing the SITAR.
It seemed simple but believe me it was one of the toughest for a little 7 years old to do. Soon more than singing, I started enjoying playing the SITAR more.
Sturdy yet simple many a string Instrument sitting atop your lap That you delicately strum Adorable soft tunes on to keep Ringing in your ears and hearts
Then as I grew my fondness for the string instrument changed. AS I reached grade 6, I asked my grandfather to gift me a guitar.
And that was the start of another wonderful musical journey when I learnt to play this beautiful instrument humming soft English music along.
Getting ready then to learn and Understand another string instrument was my desire That I developed as I grew in Age and awareness that I was Ready to rock and roll in life
That’s not all… as I was eventually a player in many more like the Tanpura, Harmonium, Synthesiser and even the Drums but sadly — a master of none.
For I believed in learning everything I could lay my hands on when it came to music, only because for me then and even now - Music is food for the soul.
Strumming The Blues Away is in response to yet another Acrostic challenge. This time around started by Agnes Laurens — mediums very own violinist on What is your favourite instrument to play and to listen to?
