Stories You Shouldn’t Miss — Volume IV
June edition of my favorite reads

I know July is almost gone and I haven’t published the version of my favorite reads of June but somehow this got lost in between all the other prompts and writing challenges I was involved in.
I wouldn’t say I didn’t read as many inspiring stories as the previous month but I forgot about my ‘stories you shouldn’t miss’ selection and didn’t save those outstanding essays. Only four I found in my folder of which two are by the same author.
Instead of skipping this month’s edition, I am going to highlight the ones I have.
Read below.
While Kris Fricke is with a different mission in Ghana than I was almost 10 years ago, he does visit the same places I did and it is so interesting to see how much has stayed the same, how his experiences with the people and the culture are similar to mine and how many amazing memories come back up from my time spent there.
But even for you, who maybe have no connection to the country of Ghana, his stories on teaching beekeeping and traveling around the country are worth the read.
Sam Bracke shares his experiences of running an ultra-trail in Transylvania, Romania. But this isn’t just a report on some random race, even as someone who isn’t into running, I found his experiences fascinating. Great storytelling.
Last but not least, I saved this photo essay by Erika Burkhalter with which she participated in the 52-week photo challenge of Full Frame. Topics were given and she responded with four outstanding photographs of the mountain and glacier Denali in Alaska.
If not for anything else, then just click on the piece to look at the majestic mountain.
