Stop, Your Ice Cream Might Be Contaminated!

By Kayla Richard | March 6, 2020

Growing up my mom always reminded me to pull groceries from the back of the shelf and now I think I know why.

Look, at first, I was debating not to post this because it’s not really something I dive into a lot. But this seemed to fit right in so I figured why not? This case reminds me so much of why I hate buying food out of grocery stores. If I had a formula that taught me how to grow my own crap by now, I’d be extremely happy. But that doesn’t just happen overnight. You got to be really smart to know how to how to do stuff like that, and unfortunately, I just don’t have that kind of patience.

But when I go going grocery shopping, I expect my food to be as pure as the heavenly skies. But people like this guy, love to ruin it for everyone.

In Port Arthur, Texas, a guy by the name of D’Adrien L’Quinn Anderson, in August 2019, thought it would be a good idea to lick a half-gallon of Blue Bell ice cream in the store and upload to the world wide web. Absolutely disgusting, right?

I will admit as a child, I’ve had my fair share of moments eating grapes out of grape bags, but to go as far as licking ice cream off the shelf is just plain disgusting. But as I said, I was a child at the time, and by the looks of it, this guy is not even close to being a child. Though, I could argue his actions say otherwise.

Apparently there’s a video of him too, licking inside of the tub of ice cream and then preceding to place it back on the shelf. Yuck!. I’d rather not show it here, though.

It does appear, however, that he did indeed purchase the ice cream after posting the video. But regardless of the fact, this case still doesn’t sit well on Blue Bell’s part.

Anderson was said to have had to pay a $1,000 fine and a restitution of $1,565 to Bell Creameries which was later stated by the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office. What is it with Blue Bell’s company though and why is it mainly targeted? Maybe because of its simplicity to attain. Blue Bell is known for its sealess ice cream batches which have furthered a few complaints.

This case, however, has not been the only case to have leaped its way across the internet. It has even become a ‘challenge’ amongst social media. According to ‘Know Your Meme’ a site known for documenting internet phenomena, this grotesque act is known as the ‘Ice Cream Licking Challenge’ or ‘Tin Roof Challenge’.

It states further “In late June 2019, the challenge was widely criticized as unhygienic following the circulation of a viral video in which a woman performed the challenge with a container of Blue Bell’s Tin Roof ice cream at a Walmart store in Lufkin, Texas”

I have never in my life been this disgusted to the point I’d rather my eyes fall out of its sockets. To have to read something like this is truly jaw-dropping. I even hated the fact I had to write this, but I’m doing this so more people are aware of it.

I don’t want people to be victims of this kind of stupidity. That means me, you, or any other person out there.

So, I’m going to say this and I hope you read carefully. Please, please, please make sure to analyze the foods you purchase! I always advise people to buy foods that are strongly sealed because most likely, no one is going to risk trying to open it.

And let’s admit we shouldn’t only worry about the ice creams, but foods in stores overall! This is about the general foods you consume and buy. Take a minute to stop and inspect your foods, especially the ones that aren’t sealed because you don’t want to come across a nasty tongue print!

I feel like it was my generous duty to inform you of this serious; appalling situation. I’m not just saying that either.

I think it’s clear to see that we have some of the nastiest people out here who will do anything for just a couple likes and clicks. So please, take note of that and stay safe people!
