Yes, the AI chatbot can mimic any style.

I’ve been using ChatGPT for over 9 months, and during this time, I’ve written numerous blog posts on various topics like using ChatGPT for creating content, generating movie scripts, boosting motivation and productivity, coding assistance, and even business ideas.

But the truth is, ChatGPT has a lot more capabilities than what I’ve covered so far.

One of its remarkable abilities is the capacity to mimic various authors and personalities.

Imagine ChatGPT emulating the writing styles of renowned authors like J. K. Rowling, William Shakespeare, Stephen King, and many others. This feature alone makes ChatGPT incredibly versatile and valuable.

Curious to learn how ChatGPT accomplishes this? Let’s delve into the details.

1. From Analyzing Style to Creating Content

You can start by telling ChatGPT to analyze a piece of writing.

For example, you might say, “Analyze the text below for style, voice, and tone. Later, you will need to write whatever I tell you in the same style, voice, and tone: [insert your text]”.

Later, you can ask it to write something in the same style as that text.

As you can see, this AI chatbot is pretty good at understanding how a piece of writing is done — its style, voice, and tone.

Now, you can ask this chatbot to create content on any topic, and it will do it in that same style, voice, and tone.

Here’s how you do it.

In a similar way, you can give ChatGPT someone else’s writing, and it will generate content in the same style.

This can be used for various purposes, like making catchy advertisements, writing blog posts in the style of famous writers, crafting effective cold emails, and more.

2. Use Custom Instructions

Recently, ChatGPT has introduced a new feature in its chatbot — custom instructions. The good news is, this feature isn’t just for paid subscribers; even free users can access it at no cost.

Here’s how to use it:

• Click on the three dots located in the bottom-left corner.
• Select “Custom Instructions.”

Now, you can input content that you want to use as a reference.

Note that towards the end, there’s an option labeled ‘Enable for new chats’. Make sure to choose this option, and then save your custom instructions.

This way, every time you start a new chat, the same style will be applied automatically.

After this, whenever you ask to write something on a new chat, the ChatGPT will write the content in reference to the passage you have provided in the Custom Instructions tab.

3. Use the Specific Person Directly

Up until now, we’ve been adding several paragraphs to help the chatbot understand how we want it to write in terms of style, voice, and tone. However, there’s an even more direct way to instruct ChatGPT.

Here’s an example: I provided ChatGPT with this prompt, “I want you to act as J.K. Rowling and based on that write a short paragraph about productivity in the same style, voice, and tone as J.K. Rowling”.

Then, I received an output in the same style as J.K. Rowling.

In a similar fashion, you can ask ChatGPT to critique a piece or provide feedback while adopting a specific persona.

For instance, you can pretend to be Stephen King and request a critique of a post on suspenseful storytelling, asking for feedback on Stephen King’s gripping and chilling tone reminiscent of his novels.

• In the style of a travelogue writer, describe an imaginary journey to an unexplored island, capturing the beauty, culture, and mysteries of the place.
• As a historical fiction author, write a dialogue between two famous historical figures discussing a pivotal moment in history and its implications.

• In the voice of a culinary expert, share a mouthwatering recipe for a signature dish from a fictional cuisine, complete with detailed instructions and the cultural significance of the dish.

• In the style of a detective novelist, create a short story where the reader is the detective, tasked with solving a mysterious crime in a small, eerie town.
• Channel a nature enthusiast and write a vivid description of a serene and untouched natural landscape, emphasizing the importance of conservation.
• Emulate a tech visionary and predict the future of technology, outlining the potential innovations and their impact on society in the next decade.
• In the voice of a political commentator, analyze a current global issue and offer a solution based on your expertise in geopolitics.
• As a parenting expert, provide guidance on fostering healthy relationships and effective communication between parents and teenagers.
