Stop Trying to Find God Outside Yourself
The Inward Journey to God’s Truth-Part 1
If you are reading right now, that tells me you were supposed to read this today. This is a comprehensive lengthy article — If you do not have time to finish reading now, do yourself a favor and bookmark this for future reading. If you do have time — thank you for your support and I would love to hear your thoughts and insight in the comment section. Thank you!
Tomorrow is not promised for any of us yet we deceive ourselves every day by assuming we have more time.
Time?
Time for what?
I mean what do we think time has for us?
The timing is never right to do anything we “think” we need to do in the society of blind sheep wondering a field left for us to figure out from ancestors before us.
The majority of people were and still are wondering through the same insipid life they were brought up in. Every year we see the same trauma and generational curses running rampant through our children, youth, young adults, and eventually adults who were parented from a lack of validation and understanding of what life is all about. Passing the torch of trauma to the next runner-up, who does not have any choice but to see things from the lens of a warped perspective.
We have the power to see all our mistakes as our own. We have the power to investigate within ourselves what is triggering anxiety, depression, confusion, fears, and so many more things that go against us every day. To examine our trauma, pain, scars, and anything holding us back from being what we were put on this earth to be requires awareness of our actions and thoughts. We all have the power within us to become whatever our purpose in life is. Whether we use it or not is totally left up to us.
Where Does This Power Come From?
The reason we have all of this power already dwelling within our hearts and souls is that God lives inside of us. In our hearts resides His spirit and power. We have all of this but only if we choose to allow His presence to work favor in our lives.
How do I know it is God? Because I have done the inner work to allow His spirit to breathe life into me, renew my mindset, and change my warped perspective. You can argue all day whether God is real or not, but until you do inner work and understand that He lives inside of you already, then you will have a hard time understanding God.
God is so much more than you can ever imagine. If you feel like you can never feel his presence, and never feel whole, complete, or happy in life, understand this:
You have not found God if you have a void still inside you, instead you have found religion imposed on you by your parents, caregivers, or anyone whom you grew up in their household. This is called childhood conditioning.
I am not saying your caregivers are horrible people who are not true lovers of God or that something was wrong with the way you were raised. I am saying that the blind are leading the blind if this void is a part of your everyday life. How can one fix an issue if they do not have the awareness to understand there is an issue?
No amount of money, success, houses, luxury cars, loving kids, or partner can keep a sense of joy and the love of life in your heart. There will always be something missing in your life that you can not quite put your finger on. This creates identity crisis, confusion between the head and heart, and spiritual warfare.
So how does one find the truth of God then?
Glad you asked. Here are the steps you must take to open the door for God’s presence in your life.
Get To Know Yourself
God can not be found through anyone other than yourself. This can only be done when you are ready to know the truth of your identity and the power inside of you. You can not do this at church because you are not understanding God on a deep level. Religion is not the answer, you are the answer.
Ask yourself the following questions, reflect, and then write down your answers. It is okay if you do not know exactly how to answer these questions. No wrong answers. You can google any one of these questions for help with examples and words to choose for different values, emotions, etc.
- What is your purpose for your life?
- What are your values? What are your boundaries? I included the links to each one to ensure you understand exactly what you are being asked to answer to yourself.
- What goals do you have for life? Short and long term? Short-term < 1 year or long-term 5 + years?
- What trauma do you have internally that you are suppressing that is blocking you from living your ideal life?
- Do you repress or try to rationalize why you feel certain feelings that you do? Why is that?
Get To Know God
I chose to do this section in Q and A format to try and answer common questions people have about God and the same questions I had myself not too long ago. I will make it as clear and easy to understand as possible. Stay with me, it is a little long, but let’s be honest what else do you have to do that is more important than investing in understanding how to change a core wound within yourself and find God’s love in the process? I mean really? Here we go.
Q: “Why God why am I the sensitive soul that feels everything and takes on everyone else’s pain and can not understand why people will not do for me like I do for them. God this is not FAIR!”God why all this suffering? Why are you not answering my prayers?
A: How can God answer you when He can not even hear you or your prayers you pray only when convinient? Q: Why can God not hear my prayers, that is ridiculous, I am praying to Him so that is talking to God, right! He says in the Bible just to ask and He will give me what I need? A: Well that is too easy. It is a little more complex for us than a surface level interaction with our Creator. If you have any repressed negativity lurking in the shadows of your heart that blocks God’s spirit from blessing you. If you have trauma that you run away from dealing with, or you refuse to sit with your feelings about the past things that control your current life — you will always have a void because God is not able to have your full attention- He can not access you because your trauma is in His way. God is found at the threshold of the door to your heart. Your soul is what makes you happy and contains your joys and passions and all the things you can accomplish in this life directed by the gifts and purpose that God specifically designed for each and every human being since the beginning of time! Pretty amazing is it not?
You can completely and miraculously change your entire mindset, life, and situation by healing yourself and your core wounds.
The resurrection power that brought the dead back to life, made the blind man see, healed all sorts of mental illnesses, physical illnesses, disabilities, and leprocies, fed 5000 from 5 loaves of bread, parted the sea for Israel to pass through so they were not killed in the hands of their enemies, walked on h2o while the disciples were like “Woah man what the heck are you doing?” yeah, that kind of power lives inside of you.
It is already inside of you waiting for you to uncover all the goodness He has to offer you in this life. In this temporary life.
That’s right. This is all temporary! The illusion we have more minutes and even seconds left to do and be whatever we want to be — the reality is we have no such thing as time.
What we spend our time on is of critical importance. What we choose to value is ultimately what we become and stay. But none of this life is going to matter if God is not leading your path and purpose.
He delivered me from addictions, generational curses, and trauma, from bitterness, resentment, mood disorders, mental disorders, and even a brief period of psychosis from some of my worst days as an addict.
He delivered me from internal unworthiness, always feeling not good enough, repression of my emotions, disassociation, confusion, envy, hate, victim mentality, past rumination, obsessions of wanting to change all of my regrets, shame, and so much more.
All of this was given to me the minute I validated myself and understood the past for what it was but with compassion and understanding instead of hatred and bitterness. I chose to see my life for what it was and the mistakes I had made to get me there, not everyone else’s fault for how I ended up back then.
If you choose to invest in understanding yourself intimately and face the feelings you are running from, you will find God.
