Stop Killing Your Read Ratio With This Common Mistake

Stop doing this…

I am reading on Medium, looking through some great posts with an immense amount of value. But every single post does the same thing. It’s killing their read ratio but they don’t even notice it yet.

Writers, please stop doing this.

Stop what exactly?

Stop using the headline function, it’s killing your read ratio.

Why so?

Because you overshare so much in it.

Let me explain.

Author Image: Simple example, but you get the point.

What is obvious in this piece of text?

I can read the headlines and know 95% of all the information.

You need to keep your readers engaged, don’t let them scan your post for 10 seconds and leave.

I have been practicing this for a while now, and it’s working.

My read ratio for this month is at 68%, while in January it was at 49%.

Sometimes it will be impossible to avoid stating the obvious, but try to change it up as much as possible.

Let me give you some examples.

I sparked the reader’s interest to read further or read what was said before.
