Stop Believing You Are Free
Freedom is not what you think, I tell you why.

We’ve been told we are free. Is that true?
Freedom is the right to live as we wish.
The world is changing; there’s no doubt about it. It’s a good thing as a bad one. It depends on where you view it.
We are achieving more rights, like black rights or LGBT rights. But we need to understand whether we are free or not. Let me explain what I mean.
Lots of things are behind, like trans rights, for example. Or the planet burning, but that’s another story. However, the truth is that not even gay people are free today.
No one is.
Alright, many more people are much more open to the LGBT community, but let’s be realistic. How many people actually understand? Anyone is good enough to accept people, but the people who actually believe are a lot less. Nowadays, you are a homophobe if you don’t say yes. You are a transphobe if you don’t respect pronouns.
But who is actually here to understand how humans work?
We sometimes say that being gay it’s normal in 2020. I don’t think so. If that were normal, I wouldn’t be here talking about it, just like many people. People hide their true thoughts about it, but I’m glad companies are spreading awareness.
I know it’s not cool to make money out of our rights, but I think it’s so cool entering a shop and feeling accepted by discovering products that represent us, isn’t it?

Freedom of speech
We can express ourselves however we want, right?
Nope, not really.
Yes, I can make an article saying whatever I want, that’s true. But, will “the big ones” listen to what I have to say?
I mean, let’s be honest, what we say it’s worthless. We can’t express ourselves the way we want in public spaces, like TV or other “official” sources. Those sources control people’s minds, most of them.
It’s up to us to learn and chose to listen to different voices. The majority of people are ignorant and live with what TVs or magazines say every day, and we can’t change that. We can’t express ourselves there. We can do that in our own and private spaces, and it’s when we decide to do that altogether, to wake up the world, that we get arrested and punished.
Sometimes even physically.
