Stones Cast Into an Impermanent Lake
A poem about those fleeting moments that change a life
We are but fields of electromagnetic pulses and nuclear furnaces wilted as gravitons dance, superimposed upon frost in the early dawn we sing, together vast and strong and speak dreams into midnight sky stones.
That simple kiss shattered diluted bliss as we raged and burned a thousand galactic cores and then it was over lampshade shattered clothes flung upon the floor love letters writ upon empty evenings in sin and remorse.
They come again ghosts of the past for you to pay the reaper alas, for life’s rent upon the bone die cast across the Rubicon that cold choice ruins of imprudence made perhaps tomorrow you can alter destiny’s dance of snow geese ballet.
They speak your name in winter’s tempest and lay hope upon forgiveness to save the earth for fire begets fire death begets death from the hands of ignorance what is there but stones cast into an impermanent lake?
