Stepping into the Future, One Book At a Time
Can reading 200 books a year really change your life?

Susan Brearley says her life has changed since adopting this habit in 2019. Okay, so 2019 wasn’t that long ago (and yet it seems like it was so long ago…) but she’s seen results, some almost immediately.
Susan decided she would read 200 books in one year. What changed?
MINDSET
Mindset is the first change to happen when taking on the challenge of consuming 200 books in a year. This is a conscious decision to change one's habits in order to make the time to read 200 books in 365 days. I don’t care how busy or not busy you are, that’s a lot of time.
Deciding to do this, or adding anything else that is new to a daily, weekly, or monthly routine, is exactly why we all should read more books: develop habits that are a good/better use of our time.
It doesn’t have to be 200 in a year, but why not give it a try? Even if you read one more book than you normally do or just one book, it’s a start in the right direction.
ORGANIZING
Organizing the task is the second mind shift to happen when taking on a challenge that’s going to change the way you spend your time. Now you’re thinking thoughts focused on books, their topics, their length, and their delivery. Ebook, print, or audio? Novels, or novellas? Fiction or non-fiction? Finding a mix or a niche, with a million new books being published every couple of weeks (seriously, what’s that stat now?) there is no shortage of material. And, your thoughts are changing. The things you are thinking about are different.
EXPANDING YOUR LIFE
If you’re going to read 200 books in a year, there should be a reason for it. A goal in mind, a life challenge or necessary change, an idea that’s been brewing in your dreams for decades. A business? A book? An Airbnb in upstate New York hosting live-in-think-tank-style collaborations to creatives with big ideas?
