Step out of the “Stepford” — 2020

And step into knowing and power…

In speaking with a friend the other day, she brought up how she can’t wait until things go back to normal. This comes as our restaurants are now banned from inside dining once again.

How many of us are hearing that things will never be the same — that we will never know the ‘normal’ that we once had?

Are you wondering what that even means?

I don’t have the answers (no one does) but I would like you to spend some time with questions. Ask yourself what this means for you.

What was your normal?

And what has changed, is changing — or needs to change in your world?

We can be a victim of this year or be a victor. It’s your choice.

We have stepped into uncomfortable and what some might deem unaddressed areas. In these uncertain times, how are you going to bring more certainty in?

I feel we are being shown that the power does not lie outside of us, but comes from within.

It’s time for us to realize that we can’t and shouldn’t depend on others to get things done and to step into being the source for the change we desire.

Be our own advocates.

I had a conversation with my son. He stated that he is a realist and is making his decisions and choices based on what he sees.

I stated that I am a creator and am making my decisions and choices based on what I want to see.

See the difference?

It’s all in the way you look at things. It’s your perspective, which was developed from the first 8 years of your life. It’s our model of the world shown to us by our parents, family, and environment.

It’s what we’ve heard and seen during a time when our brains are in the delta stage. When it’s like a sponge, taking in everything and storing it.

How many of us think that our brains are hardwired and we can’t change? Guess what, we can — IF we choose.

How do I know? Because I was a realist until I decided I no longer wanted to be. Period. It’s as simple as that — we just complicate the process.

Our minds control us until we become aware and decide to take control.

Our subconscious mind plays such an active role in how we live our daily lives. Filled with all our habits, beliefs and life experiences that take us into each NEW day — based on our past days.

Now is the time as we enter into the last two months of 2020 to break the habit of being ourselves. I love that line which is the title of a book by Dr Joe Dispenza. I recently purchased the book, but have not yet read it. That said, I am familiar with his work.

I have heard Dr Joe speak in person. Actually a few times. The last one in 2015 at a CYL event here in Chicago. It was then that I had the honor and privilege of picking him up at the airport and driving him to the summit location.

There we were in my car — one on one, talking about his latest book on epigenetics. Something that was so NEW to me then…if only I could go back in time now…

…but I digress. And with a very special memory for me.

A “me” that has made many changes since that time in 2015 because just months prior, my life forever changed. A time when I could have thought my life had ended, instead it didn’t take me long to realize it had only just begun.

Life will happen — shit will happen. That will never stop. It’s how we respond. Are we going to turn it into a shift?

There will be those who will see the darkness and live bitter. And those that look for the light and live better.

I choose light. How about you? It’s never too late to choose the light. And to decide to take some control, step into your power — and find that inner peace.

The year 2020 has helped me solidify my message. I’ve had a vision for years of helping women become empowered. Though that vision was there it was not really clear — 2020 brought me a clear view.

How synchronistic that the year 2020 would be the year I have clear vision…We all know 20/20 is considered perfect sight.

Are you taking the time to see? There are many of us that are ‘busying’ ourselves with the details of what is happening in the world and in our lives. Always doing and not taking time to be still.

If you take some time to slow down — what can you see? What do you hear? What lies in your soul that you might be missing — or maybe even avoiding? We don’t like to change. We fear it. It’s the unknown.

And 2020 has been all about the unknown, the uncertain. Let us take this and make it a catalyst to move us to change. To stop avoiding and start embracing.

Change is good — but it’s not always wrapped up with that pretty bow.

I am asking you to not distract yourself. Stop. Take time to reflect. Listen. Learn. Grow. Change.

Many of us had time earlier this year when lockdown forced a slowdown. But how many of us are back up to our old speed? Just keeping busy? Distracting?

I feel it’s time to soul search. Look at your story (we all have one) and see that it’s limiting you. Do not let your story define you.

Don’t make choices from where you came from. Make choices from where you want to go… ~Marilyn Alauria

When we don’t step outside of our comfort zone or take risks, we think we are safe. When we doubt ourselves and our abilities, it’s our little child that wants to protect us — but that’s not keeping us safe. Think about that.

Let’s dream. And as you do, notice — you dream from your past experiences…Take the brackets off. I’m asking you to dream big.

What have you always wanted to do?

What have you been afraid to do?

What lit you up as a child?

What are your passions?

How can you become a leader in your life?

I remember the movie The Stepford Wives from 1975. What always stuck with me was the vision of these ladies in the grocery store. Walking with blank stares, not thinking, not there… what an impression it left on a young me.

I am not ‘Stepford. I will not let society brainwash me. I will not just listen, I will speak. I look to bring to light what others look to keep in the dark. That’s why I moved into alternative, functional medicine.

It’s time to open our eyes and see for ourselves. And think for ourselves. And not just follow what everyone else is doing or saying. Be a leader…

We live in times (in the U.S.) when our government, big pharma, the food industry and society decide what is right for us. They put figurative blindfolds over our eyes, stop us from seeing what is. From thinking too much. Distract us so that we are not totally present.

We are numbed by food, drink and medications — This. Needs. To. End.

I feel it can when we start to question when we tap into our inner power when we take control. We don’t know what we don’t know. Time step into knowing.

And this will bring us peace, which comes from within…We need peace, especially in these times. There are too much fear and panic.

Let us create through the power of love. Genders and generations — together.

Are you with me? Does this resonate with you?

Are you willing to step into who you are now meant to become?

Some of us may stop ourselves because we have a story — we’ve done something and it didn’t work out. If that’s so — change your story.

Two phrases that can help in moving forward are:

  • Up until now
  • What if

Fill in the blanks — and then take some action.

And turn any no you receive into next.

Change your limiting belief into one that is limitless…
