Steamy Two-Hour Short Reads
A Book Category at Amazon
So, I’m not sure if this is a thing or not. I was poking around on Amazon to see if there were any interesting free Kindle books available today. Then, I came upon a pretty much bare-chested man with six pack abs and a low-slung belt and jeans on. You couldn’t see his face much like those car commercials where they don’t show anybody driving the cars so you can imagine to your heart’s delight that you are driving the car. See how advertising works? The buyer’s imagination is worth a lot.
The title of the book is The Librarian (Steamy Shorts Book 2). I put a link to it after the article.
I noticed in the categories section this particular book scored #1 in Action & Adventure Short Stories (Kindle Store), #1 in Action & Adventure Short Stories (Books) and #1 in Women’s Adventure Fiction (Books). I used my KDSPY tool which didn’t seem to be operating properly but showed me this book generated over $5,500 a month. Lena Little, assuming it’s all the same person has written 147 books. Can you imagine how much money she makes? These are 99¢ books at Amazon Kindle. It was written in October, so just a couple of months ago.
Just for fun I looked at another one of her books, this one about a possessive cop to find it was written in 2022 and is making about $147 a month. Evidently, quick turnover is better for sales. Or, maybe they are such short reads that your readers just keep coming back for more or the shelf life just isn’t very long.
The Librarian is 64 pages. That’s hardly anything. It was classified as a two-hour read. I think this might be where I should have a side business. The book was a part of the Steamy Shorts line of books. I’d imagine there are less clothes inside. Anyway, I’m willing to spend 99¢ to see just what kind of book this is and maybe, just maybe I will create for myself a pen name. I mean would you go to a smutty psychic? Of course not. I could be Pauline Little Bee which was my nickname when we lived in Germany. Paulineschen die flotte bienchen. Pauline the cute bee. Actually, they told me it meant Pauline the sexy bee, but we were all drinking at the time. Google thinks it means cute.
So, just throwing it out there to see if anybody else wants to try for the short reads category at Amazon for their books.
Or, if you are already writing in the short reads category could you let me know what you think of it?
Thanks for reading.
