Stay Contagious and Courageous

A Positive Way to Sign-Off

Photo by Alix Greenman on Unsplash

I often sign off on meetings and emails with a particular closing:

“Stay Contagious and Courageous!”

Maybe at the end, I’ll add, “…with who you are” or something like “…and curious.

Something similar to Jim Carrey in The Truman Show, saying, “In case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night.”

It’s not just a sing-songy sign-off, though. It’s a message I want to deliver as you continue on your journey.

Stay Contagious

We all have a contagion — and a choice of which kind we spread. Is your contagion positive or negative? Oh, how I hope you choose positive.

Positive is better for you. It’s better for them. It’s better for the innocent bystander who happens to overhear or catch a glimpse of you. You’re contagious, whether you want to be or not. So, please, choose wisely.

Stay Courageous

Life takes courage. Yours does. Mine does. Everyone. We need the courage to step out and start the day (or even to stay in and start the day).

Courage can be our “Oomph,” our get-up-and-go!

To say something. To write something. To show up for something. Courage is the kick-starter to forward movement and improvement.

So, similar to how I like to say, “Hi,” I want to close by saying…

Stay contagious and courageous!

Is there a special goodbye or sign-off that you have? I’d love to ̶b̶o̶r̶r̶o̶w̶ ̶i̶t̶ know what it is. Please share in your response.

Stay contagious and courageous! And creative!
