Stay Away From This Person

No one can stay positive all the time.

If you’re a sniveler, a whiner, a complainer, you will never be happy. We all have that side. Get a little stoical and just take the pain.

— Fredrick lenz

We 100% know that it’s absolutely impossible to stay positive all the time. Healthy feedback or I would say constructive feedback is imperative for growth in life.

However, we should keep an eye never cross that fine line to criticize someone. I always encourage you not to criticize anyone in public: kids, colleagues, employees, etc.

Complainer

As I said, healthy criticism is necessary for growth. But there is a possibility when you see someone at work or in your personal life to complain all the time.

For example, one of my colleagues at my previous work complained almost about everything in life: managers, colleagues, transport, long projects, food, pets, etc. He even complained about why the elevator takes so long to reach the next floor.

No contribution

By spending some time with him, I learned that he never contributes to solving a problem but always complains about the problem or even the solutions.

That particular person is not only a complainer, but he is also converting you into one of them. Stay away from that person.

I read somewhere that the people who complain all the time are a kind of cancer to any organization.

Today’s topic is to stay away from complainers who complain about everything. That’s not healthy behavior.

Complaining is dangerous business. It can damage or even destroy your relationship with God, your relationships with other people, and even with your relationship with yourself. — Joyce Meyer

A chronic complainer will make you a complainer

Let me show you how a chronic complainer will make you another complainer just like him.

To receive positive or negative feedback at work happens on a daily basis. Every day your manager or supervisor will praise you if you did something good or criticize you if you did not fulfill the requirements as he wanted.

Your confidence level will be boosted if your manager praises you. But what if he criticized you or gave you negative feedback?

Negative vs. positive feedback

Two things can happen to you based on positive or negative feedback.

i)

if you share your manager’s negative feedback with an optimistic person, that person will reply something like this: no worries, do this way or that way, next time your manager will be happy or maybe the project is super delayed that’s why the manager is not happy, etc.

ii)

if you share the manager’s negative feedback with a chronic complainer, that is the moment when your brain is already fragile. The complainer will say more bad things that the manager is not good; he is always like that, you should complain to this/that.

A complainer will always exaggerate a bad thing when you share negative feedback from them. Stay away as much as you can from the complainers. They don’t achieve any goal in life. However, they do their best to make you a whiner.

Conclusion

A chronic complainer always puts a seed of doubts in your mind. Try your best to stay away from them, and if it’s impossible, try not to share negative feedback.

Don’t become a victim. Just do your due diligence before you have any issue with the management.

Whiners are cancer in any organization or in your social circle.
