Starting a Money-Making Blog in 2019: New Method That's 100X Faster

The Comprehensive 4 Section Guide

If I were to tell you that there was a new way to start a blog that is 100X faster, costs nothing out of pocket and doesn't require any technical expertise to start, you'd probably think I was a crazy snake-oil salesman or something, right?

Well it's the truth.

It can happen so easily to you and provide you with automated income streams and the freedom to live your life the way you see bloggers and influencers doing it today. Here's how…

Why start a blog in 2018 anyway?

It's kind of an adage thrown around today that Youtube and video is "King" in terms of content creation. You have people like Gary Vaynerchuk, Tim Ferriss, and Tom Bilyeu who have captivated hundreds of thousands if not millions of viewers through their respective Youtube channels. You might be thinking to yourself that blogging and content writing should be left with the corded telephone in the dumpster where it belongs. Research tells us otherwise, however.

And all of this doesn't just apply to businesses/periodicals looking to spread content and capitalize on the financial gain. It also applies to:

  • Non-fiction writers: Publishers are looking for a writer who doesn't just have a killer book that's ready to be spread to the masses. They are deliberate in the risk they take. They would rather bank on publishing and marketing a book that is coming from a writer with a loyal and viable audience. So much of this audience can be built from content creation through a blog.
  • Lifestyle "solopreneurs": It seems every year, there is a new lifestyle blogger that is capitalizing on this industry and traversing the world and experiencing fulfillment in all of its glory. If you are a blogger that is patient, there are ways to utilize affiliate marketing to make a passive income as well as selling products (online courses, ebooks etc) to work towards the freedom you've always desired.

So in reading this, you've probably been able to put yourself in at least one of the two categories. What should you do next? Purchase a domain and start your WordPress?

Definitely not…

Your Grandfather's way of starting a blog

Years ago, the best way to start a blog was through WordPress. It had the best support, plug-ins, upstart and customization. This is evident with over a quarter of all sites being powered by WordPress.

The problem?

It's extremely complicated and labor intensive.

When you have no idea what you're doing

You are going to need to go through the rigmarole of finding your domain name, setting up the site, hosting it, designing the proper theme, re-doing the theme, installing plug-ins, and choosing your niche (only to name a few required steps).

Plus, on top of all of that, what if you've invested all of this money and found that your niche isn't popular, or worse, isn't profitable at all.

It happened to me when I spent hundreds of wasted dollars into Wheresthefidelity.com that I still cringe when I look at it.

At the end of the day, this line of thinking is setting you up for failure. There isn't a clear strategy. You are taking your thoughts, throwing them into the caverns of the internet and hoping they're received in kind.

But there's a better way…

Successful blogging of the future

In order to illustrate this new strategy, I'm going to break it up into 4 sections:

1. Measuring Achievability:

Making sure you are deliberate in your blogging approach. Is this a popular space? Does the audience us blogs to gather information this way? Is the audience affluent enough to exchange value for compensation?

Not all niches are the same. According to Obstacle.co the 7 most profitable blog topics are as follows:

How to Make Money

Examples:

Personal Finance

Examples:

Health & Fitness

Examples:

Food

Example:

Beauty & Fashion

Example:

Lifestyle

Examples:

Personal Development

Example:

This isn't to say that there aren't other blogs niches that are both popular as well as profitable. This information does allow you to see if any of the listed niches coincide with your interests and you could legitimately see yourself writing about these profitable topics over the long haul.

There are plenty of people that are probably interested in Bonsai trees, however, are you going to be able to convert the content of this subject into something profitable?

Most likely, no.

2. Stealing Like an Artist:

What are other successful bloggers doing in your specific niche? You are able to research what people actually talking about in your field and what is being desired by the audience.

"Good artists copy, great artists steal"

— Pablo Picasso

When you have narrowed your selected niche that is both popular and profitable, what are the people doing successfully in this field?

You might be thinking to yourself right now, "Well shit — now I have to spend countless hours going through countless blogs seeing what posts are working, what products are being sold, what affiliate links are brining in extra cash."

While that might work — always understanding "how the sausage is made" is a viable tactic for any endeavor, there are tools in 2018 that will help expedite this process.

Enter Feedly:

Taken directly from Feedly's About page:

"Speed. Openness. Creativity."

Feedly is an aggregate source of all the top blogs/periodicals/content sites and what type of niches are being followed by an audience:

Create a free profile and search desired niche | Shown here, tech

When you are prompted with a list, simply travel to the site and do some research that will help you draw a conclusion of if the niche is viable or not. This can be done with anything — what does "knitting" bring you? What about "Blogging"? The possibilities are limitless in what to look up, however you are going to see that not every interest is something that should be pursued in order to build a sustainable and profitable blog.

Buzzsumo:

You've probably heard by now that headlines are 90% of the success of your blog being read (if you haven't heard this by now, probably time to get out from under your rock).

So what headlines are working within your niche?

A great tool to use is Buzzsumo.

Again, from the website's homepage:

"Analyze what content performs best for any topic or competitor"

This is where you can steal the headlines that are working in your niche. Let's look at Lifestyle:

Searching "Lifestyle" we can see the headlines that have gotten 170k+ and 550k+ shares!

Now, Buzzsumo is a paid service if you want all of the features. You can, for free, get a glimpse of what is working out there and it is a highly recommended tool.

These tools allow you to do the diligent reconnaissance necessary to start building a successful and profitable blog

3. Testing Your Ideas Before WP:

You are now able to use sites like Medium to test your blog before going headfirst with the investment of WP. This allows you to see what is working and what isn't.

You're probably familiar with Medium (uhhhh… there's a 99.9% chance you're reading this on Medium right now).

Now that you have your targeted niche and you have built up an arsenal of viable topics to write about (topics that an audience is hungry for) you now have the opportunity to write about these topics and test them out.

Free 👏 Of 👏 Charge 👏

That's right. You don't have to go through the painstaking and costly setup that was illustrated above.

Now, in a community of 60 million monthly readers looking for the content you are producing, you are able to present your valuable content to an audience without any financial skin the in the game.

Medium allows you to "tag" your stories into the very niche you have been researching.

You are able to build an audience on Medium and see what is working and what isn't.

Furthermore, there are plenty of writers that are going to be leagues ahead of you on their journey to writing and blogging dominance. What have they been doing that is working — in terms of content reception? Research and steal (don't plagiarize) from the writers in your niche and borrow from their headlines and content to help catalyze your speedy progression.

4. Switching to WP and scaling your blog to $1000/month (and beyond)

In this article, I won't go over the intricacies of merging your Medium posts over to a well-designed and optimized WordPress site. Thankfully, the Legendary Jon Morrow of SmartBlogger has written a great piece on doing so.

If you have reached this step, you have selected your profitable and popular niche, you have done your due diligence on gathering what works and what doesn't in terms of content generation in that niche, you have tested out your own content on Medium to learn the ropes and put in your time, and you have taken all that hard work on Medium and transferred it over to a WP site.

How do you get the flood gates of all those dolla-dolla bills to start flowing in?

That's why you started this whole thing, right?

Well there's good news and bad news.

The good news is, you've gotten past the hard part.

The bad news?

You're really at the starting line still.

Now you have to go through:

All of these things rolled into one are at least going to take 6 months to get the hang of, implement, and see grow.

But that should offer you solace:

Nothing worth doing is easy or quick

Getting started is the hardest part. After that, you're going to find yourself on a journey that has the potential to change your life (I know it drastically changed my life — both spiritually and financially).

It's happened to me — it will happen to you too, now that you are well equipped to start a blog.

None of this is guaranteed, however. But do you know what else is true?

You have a 100% guarantee of not getting any of this if you don't try.

So why not try?

Why not put in the handful of hours a week and see what you can build over the course of 6 months? One year? 5 years?

There's only one way to know —Getting out there and trying.
