‘Starbucks For Life’ game pisses me off

It’s fun to play, but man, it’s annoying.

America may run on Dunkin’, but America falls all over Starbucks, especially when competing to have it for life.

A few weeks ago, the coffee brand launched its winter edition of the game in which millions of app users compete to have Starbucks for Life (30 years). It’s a great time to be alive for this, but damn.

Here’s why I’m so frustrated:

The Game Isn’t What I Expected

My aunt and uncle love Starbucks. They told me about the Starbucks for Life game around the time it began, and we all have been playing ever since.

You shake a snow globe each day to earn pieces toward a reward like a $50 gift card or a tote bag.

Or Starbucks for Life.

Check out my game board:

Not too bad, I say. I’m pretty close to winning a couple of things. Until I’m not.

The last few days, out of the five shakes I have each day, none of them come out winners. Or one does and it’s for another sticker toward something instead of five.

Many folks have taken their frustrations to Twitter and other social media platforms to vent their feelings. I’m doing so here.

I wish each play would give you something you know. Sadly, that’s not the case this time around.

I hear on previous games in the past, each turn let you win something, even if it was another shake at the globe.

I guess I shouldn’t be too upset. I have won a few things so far. These include:

  • Free bakery items (cake pops!!)
  • Free coffee
  • More stars for more free items!

Closing Thoughts

Odds are, I won’t be one of the two winners to win Starbucks for Life. That’s okay. I almost don’t wanna be.

But it would be cool to win a free tote bag or a $50 gift card. In the meantime, I will keep playing and hope for the best.
