Stand Up/Sit Down/Stand Down/Sit Up
A Poem/ Poem A
I see you look at me with those eyes So full of my FULL NESS “She must be so unhappy when she looks like that.” “She must feel the need to be free from that cage.”
The only cage I see is the prison bars behind your eyes Stuck in the aesthetic of the seventies Sure Motown was the best And the Jeffersons beat the rest of the sitcoms We saw.
So…
Stop.
Pretending.
I am enough.
And when the meditations wear off And the hopscotch stops And the merry-go-round Scoffs.
And
AND THEY SEE ME.
Attached to the hips of the only mind I have. And unfortunately for you, she was always the most seductive
Ass-et I own.
Wishing for the FULL ness of life that is my driving Factor Attachment or not, My Swagger lies not in what you think But simply in the Brilliance
Of me.
