Stagnant Or Free?
Too Much Outside Control Isn't Good

Are you doing what you want in your life?
What kind of lifestyle do you have? Or does it have you?
Are you able to live where you wish? Or does your job require a particular location?
Are you tied to a mortgage and live a life that requires "making money" to pay for it. How can you change to live a freer life?
Choose your life carefully, and hopefully, it is tied to a passion you feel. I know it isn't easy, but what you love should in some way be able to translate to your daily business… and if you want to call it a job, then do so. But love what you choose for a job. Life will be way better.
As I read my title, it is not exactly what I want. I must have tried three or four before I decided the less I said in it, the better. The paragraph above gives you some idea of what I mean.
I want to talk about making a living doing what you love … and living a life with passion. It is part of choosing what you are interested in doing in your daily life.
I hope you understand and don't think I am talking about giving away stuff you produce for free. No …. I am talking about your life being lived in a more free way than previous generations!
In my morning reading, I came across a comment about how the younger generations are creating a life that is not as traditional as those of us from an older age. I thought about it all day while I was at my easel. It was even part of a dream I had last night!
Reading is such a personal thing, and it can trigger how I paint or what I write about.
When you think about what makes you happy, is it what you do daily?
Are you in a job that is a passion for you, and does it make you happy most of the time? You have the freedom to choose your path. That may also help you choose a freer lifestyle.
I have heard it said, "If you do what you love daily, then it is not a job." If that statement is true, you will mostly never feel like your job is work. Sadly, the word "job" has such a negative connotation. There are many of us with a job so we can have a passion. I did that for several years. No longer, though.
We know we need to do something to pay bills!
The thoughts I am seeing from young people I have made friends with are about not being attached to a job. I know … "thoughts I am seeing" is maybe worded in a wrong way, but it is how I wanted to say it! Most people would say, "thoughts I am hearing." But, it is how I see it from an emotional and feeling standpoint.
Maybe it is the artist in me that hears subtle messages not actually spoken. The words may not be spoken aloud, but I hear their emotions no matter what we are talking about. They are talking about a freedom that we older generation did not feel. A job was a job, right?
Freedom came in the outside activities we found time for … not our job!
If you are working in a job that is a passion of yours, then it ceases to most times be a "job!" You get up each morning and get to do what you love. And, you can pay your bills.
What is your passion?
Even our passions have problems and making them work can sometimes be a job.
As an artist, I have a job. I do it because I love it. It does not look like I do because I don't go to an office or sit at a computer working for someone else virtually. Artists do work in a studio or outside on location.
We produce a product, and most of us sell them. I also must create opportunities to sell some of those paintings. Hence … it is a job. But, we only work for ourselves. We only answer to ourselves. I love what I do. Yes, it may be hard at times, but I love it anyway.
I can change what I do or where I do it without answering to an "owner" of my day and time.
Be the best owner. Be the best boss! I hope you are getting my drift here.
If you are trying to figure out what you want to do with your life, then make sure it is tied to what "floats your boat!"
Find a way to be involved in it.
Find a way to live it and be free!
