Springing On With Onions
Regrow spring onions easily, simply by planting the bit you’d normally throw away into moist compost.

This isn’t high horticulture, but it’s been a catalyst to get me involved in the garden taking my mind off unemployment and impending doom.
Spring onions regrow quickly. Within a day or two, you’ll see the middle of the stem pushing through the soil.
I’ve recently bought another couple of bunches from the shop, being selective so only the best will make it into the trolley.
I trimmed them, saved and planted the last two centimeters of the bulbs. I’ve now planted 30, and they’re all growing well!
Eat, replanted, regrown, eat, repeat!
