Six Word Photo Story: Freestyle

New beech leaves among the old.

The bushes of beech in particular hang on to their old leaves for as long as they can before they get pushed off to make way for the new.

There are many beech hedges around the neighbourhood and at this time of year they have a day or two of new leaves pushing through, and then suddenly the hedges will all turn from old brown to a lovely spring green.
