Spring Clean Your Life
Clean Out The Clutter

It is finally Springtime, that time of year for renewal, rebirth, time to clean out the clutter from our sanctuaries and make space for new life. Spring cleaning usually entails getting our houses clean and beautiful to welcome the vibrancy of Spring. Cleaning out our closets, putting away those heavy sweaters and coats, a cold reminder of Winter. In addition, we toss out old items that we no longer use, they no longer serve a purpose.
In nature during Springtime, the flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, the butterflies and bees are pollinating, it is really an awakening. The colors are vibrant, the air smells sweet and Mother Nature is happily smiling. She has shed her Winter coat, removed her clutter, and all her flora and fauna are now sporting their Springtime best.
In this game called life, there are so many twists and turns that we have to be prepared to pivot along the way. Like, when the weather pivots from one season to another, we also experience many transitions.
Much like nature when the trees shed their leaves to make room for new ones, we need to remove and shed the things in our lives that no longer serve a purpose. We need to Spring clean our lives, remove the clutter to allow room for growth. Some of these things that clutter our lives are the catalysts for our anxiety and for our overthinking.

Below are 3 things that clutter our lives that we can eliminate or decrease to allow room for growth:
Toxic people We all have them in our lives, and it is time to detach from the bullshit. They have done nothing but caused us pain, increased our anxiety, and deprived us of being our true selves. So, I recommend we start Spring cleaning them out of our lives today. Don’t worry, we are only making room for new people to enter those spaces, people who will support our dreams, help us grow, and serve us in our purpose.
Social Media Ahhh, where do I start? I must admit that I am biased when it comes to social media. I have not been an active participant, so I can only speak from the outside looking in. But what I know and have observed is that it is one of the most toxic environments that are present today.
From speaking with friends and family, except for running a business, they all agree that these platforms can become quite unhealthy. The overly stimulating environments with fake images and negative vibes can have a tremendous impact on someone’s mental health. I am not saying to get rid of social media for good, but I suggest limiting your scrolling time each day. Replace those empty spaces with a new hobby or just go for a walk in nature.
Decrease Stress Stress is a dangerous drug that can cause significant damage; therefore, we need to guard and protect our energies from stress as much as possible. One way to guard our energies and reduce stress is to detach from certain outcomes. If we have no control over changing something, we should not waste our energies on it, just let it go. Easier said than done, I know, but if we practiced daily mindfulness, detaching and letting go will become second nature to us. Managing or decreasing stress will drastically improve our well-being.
