Splinters
A Lamentation for the World
Heartfelt warnings to those who have more — Ever-changing worlds leave all to desire Like splinters of the shattered, the fractured hopes of the Peoples here fray not the flesh but the Heart, the sense of Morality, Under bridges; in cars — surviving, hoping, holding tight as life backslides Shattering
They become refugees in their own land A political commodity stripped of their identity Like so much dust to be swept to a better place, a quieter Kill Zone overrun with crime yet away from the Lives, the very people they once shared their days with Everything lost they lash out! Screaming, Crying, Self-medicating, Anger, Sorrow: Shattering, Shattered
Dreams ablaze most already ash while at the podium Our Elected pad their beds and agendas with kind words, inaction. We, Mired in Timeless Misery, Anxiety, Shunned, Alienated, spend each hour Outside, we sleep; Outside we eat; Outside; Outsiders; Lost, yet home Reeling. Tumbling. Turmoiled Minds, words, actions, fleeting, impotent Ever Shattering, Ever Shattered, from Hope — Into Dust.
