Splendid Shades Of Autumn

Breath in nature’s spectacular show with gratitude

Photo taken by the author at the riverbank of the River Aire in West Yorkshire, Great Britain

The most sensational colours that Nature gives us appear in autumn. This gorgeous gift, a kaleidoscope of shades, greets us wherever we go, wherever we drive.

Never mind the parks, the woods, and nature reserves. We all expect to see and marvel at nature’s autumn show of shades in these places.

Roadsides offer these splendid colours. Car parks, too, would you believe? Playgrounds as well, the neighbours’ gardens, and our own.

There is so much to appreciate in what Nature offers us in autumn.

And there is so much to be grateful for in life, if only we’d look past grey clouds and choose to see the golden light peeking through.

Let us also look beyond the balding trees, the motley of fall colours, the thick stack of yellows, reds, oranges, and browns under our feet.

The trees and plants are giving us a brilliant show before they go into pretend hibernation.

In winter, they are perceived to be “dead”. But not really.

Trees and plants work underground, expanding their root system with minimum energy, ready to burst with vital life in spring. Raring to provide food, shelter, and give us oxygen and store carbon.

So as trees prepare themselves for winter, let us enjoy their autumn spectacle.

Breath in Nature’s stunning views with thankfulness in our hearts.
