Spirituality Is The Gift Of Love
In response to Dancing Elephants Press prompt 13/52
Spirituality to me means love in every form. In the form of communication, Communion, Compassion, and Connection with people in our daily walks of life.
“Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul.” — Augustine
Spirituality is love in any form. Love your friend, love your family, and love the community at large. Love is the beauty of the soul
I do not believe in rituals to prove that I am spiritual but to live a simple happy life with some principles of love with people.
Each one has their own perspective of life and spirituality and you have to find out for yourself what suits you and what spirituality means to you.
When I was young my parents believed in spreading love. They were not ritualistic but they always told me to set up some process that leads me to love people around me and spread happiness to them.
Rituals do not make you spiritual. It is a form of helping you to reach your moments of spirituality. Experiment with life to understand what spirituality means to you.
Simply by taking the name of God doing bad deeds and hurting people you are not spiritual. God's name is also to be taken with love to help in the process of spirituality.
To quote my father “simple living and high thinking are spirituality”.
I followed my path and I now have some principles that take me to the path of spirituality. I practice them and it is the path I feel is spiritual in my life.
The universe has always sent signals to me. It gives me direction.
My principles, path, and practice of spirituality
💠Prayer: I live by the principle of communion and prayer or a one-sided conversation with my higher self. It means Naam Japa or taking the name of God or higher self or universe to attune myself. To be happy when I spread love and speak kindly to people around me.
I like to have a spiritual practice of prayer to enrich the experience of living a sober lifestyle. It keeps me grounded and is the recognition and acknowledgment of a feeling or sense or belief that there is something greater than myself in this world.
Developing this spiritual practice is to connect with my higher self.
💠💠Work: Earn my livelihood and not depend on people to provide me with my daily necessities. Each person should work and try to support themselves. I will laze around and God will provide me with everything is not what I feel comfortable with.
💠💠💠Share my earnings and food: Whatever I earn is not my own only. It is with the grace of my higher self and the universe that I acquired some good skills.
I was born in a certain home that gave me a chance to learn and get a job or that I was able to have some strategies that I earned enough for myself.
I should then share what I earn with people less fortunate than me in my life. I do not have to give them everything that I earn but a small portion of it so I feel that I care for humanity or society.
💠💠💠💠Gratefulness: I am thankful to the universe for considering my ability and giving me gifts far more than I need. I enjoy the fruits of labor because I have been given so many gifts in my life.
Today a boy told me he was very poor and he could not study because no one in his family was educated and there was no love for books in his home.
He failed 4 times in the 10th class and now he did not want to study. He knew truly well that he would not go far in life and he accepted it. I am grateful that I could study and get a university degree because of the gift of a better intellect.
I have been blessed with a good life and I must thank God every day.
These 4 principles are simple living. These have been set up by me only to achieve the goal of spreading love to the people around me.
Connecting with nature
To abide by these principles of spirituality, I connect with nature and do yoga and a little meditation.
Nature provides me with spiritual power and significance. Forests, lakes, and mountains invoke a feeling of the divine or inspire a sense of awe. It generates spiritual feelings.
Yoga in my life
The spiritual aspect of yoga emphasizes the attainment of peace and clarity of mind. It is the union of the body and the mind.
These do not make me spiritual. They only lead me to spirituality and keep me on the right track to be in the right framework of my mind to spread love amongst people.
Not everyone can become spiritual. I feel this is the gift of love. You receive it bountifully but you do not recognize it. If you do then you spread positivity and happiness through love.
The takeaway
- Be compassionate with people and develop communication and an emotional connection with them.
- Spread love among people through a proper attitude.
- Recognize the signs of the gift of love. The universe signals to you. It is important to see the light.
- Spirituality is the inspiration to live a life of love.
To wrap up
I do not think that a quote could represent spirituality more than the one by Brend Brown.
“Spirituality is recognizing and celebrating that we are all inextricably connected to each other by a power greater than all of us and that our connection to that power and to one another is grounded in love and compassion. Practicing spirituality brings a sense of perspective, meaning, and purpose to our lives.” — Brené Brown
LIVE +LOVE+LAUGH = SPIRITUALITY
Spread love and happiness in life.
