Spiritual Sex

Sex is often either at the back or the front of my mind. I pay a lot of attention to the thoughts I have about it in attempt to discover why it plays an important role to who I am and who I’m becoming.

Strangely enough, I can go for a long time without having sex. Its not number one on the list of “most fulfilling things” in my life. It’s not something I could do non stop or would even wish to attempt doing. Yet, it’s significant.

I’ve always viewed sex as more than a guy getting on top of a girl and pounding her till climax. I’ve also always viewed it as more than an essential aspect of a healthy relationship…

It’s never been so much about the physical pleasure I get out of it. Its never been about how good/bad the guy’s performance could be. It’s never ever been about the before or after cuddles or about some fucked up manipulation strategy to get something out of a partner.

It’s always been about connecting on a spiritual level. Sex opens up a channel that allows free flow of energy, energy that intertwines, expands, multiplies. Energy that bonds two people at a far more subtle level than most of us realize. As long as we only think of this act in terms of pure physicality, we will never be able to feel how powerful and healing it can be.

It’s through sex that we get to bond deeply with another being. It’s through sex that we get to feel their energy and decide whether we are able to meet on the same frequency or not. It’s sex that allows us to feel the ultimate union of the mind, body and spirit.

Sex is not brutal, degrading or unpleasant. Stop viewing it that way…It is spiritual. Sacred. But, unless you make a conscious choice to change how you view it, you will never allow yourself to experience it this way.

No, sex isn’t all there is. It shouldn’t be put on a pedestal or considered the only thing that matters. It’s another piece to a puzzle, one that will never be complete without it. Not for as long as we are humans on Earth, at least…
