Soulmate Partnerships: A Primer in Parts (5)
Soul Age, Astrology and Soulmates
Soulmates are felt intuitively, emotionally and to the depths of our being.
Not too young and not too old. Soul ages in the middle may be just right. Right for a long-term relationship.
Astrology maps wheels of time and energies. It is an artfully cognitive tool for establishing parameters of compatibility. When partnerships link up, it can confirm and describe the soulmate connections.
And finally, astrology can show how timing is everything when meeting your soulmate, whether it is short or long term.
The Seven Levels of Soul Ages
Soul Ages
Soul Ages 1–5 are embodied, while 6 and 7 are mostly non physical before entering pure Consciousness or the Tao with exceptions.
- The Soul Ages presented here are based on the Michael Teachings.
- Infant — survival issues. Keywords: fearful and helpless.
- Baby — less fearful, looks to authority for guidance and clear rules, keyword: survival
- Young — have conquered survival issues and are seeking fame and fortune. Keywords: productive, wealth creators, supporters of the zero-sum game, self-righteous.
- Mature — identity seekers, relationship oriented, could be “confused empaths”. Dynamic keywords: emotionally open, interested in spirituality, driven, goal oriented. Static keywords: driven, creates drama, participates/creates crises in such a way where they may identify as the victim, may promote victim as hero.
- Old — interested in greater purpose, teachers by example. Experience deep inter-relatedness between people, all biological life, the 4 elements and Earth herself. Dynamic keywords: caring, spiritually aware, accepting, universally loving. Static keywords: lazy, low self-esteem issues, difficult personalities, struggling.
- Transcendental — have completed all karma. They occasionally reincarnate as Bodhisattvas.
- Infinite — represents the Tao or Non-corporeal Oneness. These Beings reincarnate every two to three thousand years and have had tremendous effects on humans. Lao Tsū being Truth, Buddha, embodying Oneness, and Christ being Unconditional Love are examples. [1]
The Seven Cycles within Each Age
The seven cycles within each soul age follow the same pattern of growth as the seven soul ages. For example:
1. New — getting toes wet; frequently slips back to the previous stage. 2. Transition/creation — self karma (learning lessons attracted to self). 3. Introspection — adapts to the change internally; fixed values. 4. Emotions — oriented to the social world, continuous work on karma. 5. New Knowing — Eccentric, explores limits, has glimpses of next soul age. 6. Karmic completion — Hectic and fast moving; pre-planned by essence. 7. Teaching — Shares experience with others; self-karma (learning lessons attracted to self). [2]
This does not preclude reincarnation on other non-human worlds. Off-Earth reincarnation can happen before the first reincarnation here or within the context of Earth reincarnations or through simultaneous lives.
Astrological Developmental Stages Timing for Soulmates
There are four stages of development growth:
- The First Saturn Return between the ages of 28 and 32. The 20s are relegated to fun and exploration. During the 20s, individuals seem to funnel their experiences through their Ascendant or Rising Sign. (As a preteen, we are focused on being our Sun Sign. Teenagers oscillate between Sun and Ascendant.) At the first Saturn Return (the second one occurs 30 years later) we get serious. We meet our soulmate, lover/partner, settle down, marry, have children and/or focus more intently on career. I was deeply in-love (age 29) and she with me at least in the beginning. When I proposed marriage to a woman, she refused for the reasons of age (she was 2 years older) and I was not Jewish. It’s a time of decision and getting serious about the direction of our lives. I got serious by moving to California to study Vipassanā Meditation with a 92-year-old Cambodian Buddhist Monk. [Saturn returns to where it was when we were born.]
- The Uranus Opposition happens between the ages of 38 to 42 approximately. This is the Mid-Life Crisis. This point can represent a major disruption/revolution/evolution in our lives. Maybe you’ve been comfortable and breezing along in your nested identity (aka not working on your stuff or your shadow material) then there will be a disruption. It will grow larger and more devastating if you resist it. This is the time men (or women to a lesser degree) usually have an affair with a younger person of the opposite sex and want a divorce. When the Mid-Life Crisis finishes, maybe six months to two years, transformation will have happened to you. You be pleased and likely proud of yourself for having transversed it. If not, you will spend a longer time putting your life back together. If your mission is to serve your personal truth as given to you by the Universe, then you’ll be fine.
- The Chiron Return happens between the ages of 48 and 52 approximately. Chiron is a major asteroid. It represents the wounded healer. Three issues arise when Chiron returns to the point when you were born: You deal with wounds from the past if you haven’t already, you become a planet Earth person and you become a master of your life-mission as it has been unfolding. The first issues seem self-explanatory unless wounds rising shock you to the surface for the first time. Becoming a Planet Earth Person deeply affected me. I entered and became more fully present in my body. As a result, body memories of early trauma were experienced. I released some and some I am still working on. The major value of becoming fully present in my body has been the magnetic power of my presence, a profound connection to my friend, Earth and all the Beings that I love. Mastery is connected with my daily inner/outer work and is a process that continues to manifest extra surprises, manifestations, and epiphanies.
- The Second Saturn Return happens between ages 58 and 62 approximately. Here is your second chance to get serious about accomplishing the dreams and visions that once had in the past. Or it could help you solidify your relationships. It could be a bump in the road or a major wake-up call.
Soulmate connections are likely at or after each of the four developmental stages. If you fall for your soulmate during the transits of Uranus opposing your Birth Uranus wait until it completes the transit to know if your relationship is solid enough. This could take anywhere from 1 to 4 years. If you don’t wait and commit during this period, then the excitement could fade along with the feeling of connection and a separation/divorce could be in the offing.
Soul Age, The Natal Chart, and Soulmates
Some Problems
Soulmate relationships are possible across all Soul Ages, but don’t last for a variety of reasons.
One problem with all soul ages is the difference between personality and the core self or essence. Soul age is our essential core, while personality is ego. [There’s a rumor going around in some circles that ego is bad and we can get rid of it. This is not true. Ego is part of the Soul’s work for higher consciousness.]
The problem begins when personality, where attachments lie, lays claim to Soul Age and becomes identified with its attributes. False personality may develop. When the growth of the essence flounders, rifts develop between essence and personality.
Spiritual wherewithal is needed to balance or integrate essence and personality.
In my lifetime, I have had heart connections that are worthy of the moniker “Soulmate”. I have recognized the essential connection on the “soul” level, but our personalities were awash in too much conflict or different paths to be viable for the long-term. The result was relationships of a few weeks to a couple of years. Karma — resolved, and I had no regrets.
The Sweet Zone
The older the soul is not necessarily a prerequisite for a suitable long-term soulmate relationship. Soul age is equivalent to the core self or essence and does not always include our personalities/ego/self. There are exceptions, of course.
If you feel you’re an old soul in the 1st through 4th level (the younger of the old souls) you may have had one relationship (that is a soulmate or not) that has been rewarding or one that ends in divorce, separation, or death. If you feel you are an old soul in the 4th through 7th levels (the older of the old souls) you may have had a series of short-term relationships with karmic level soulmates throughout the entire span of a lifetime. But, because of your larger soul purpose to humanity, there may be little room for a relationship or your partner may share the same aims but different goals. Our Souls makes Aims which are eternal. Our personalities make goals that are finite.
The same is true for late stage mature souls: you may be a serial monogamist with a longer-term relationship that ends by death, separation of divorce or a series of short-term relationships. Instead of serving humanity, you may be a workaholic or in a relationship with one.
Ideally, the “sweet zone” for long-term soulmate/ soul age relationships are Late Mature to Early Old Souls. Again, there are always exceptions.
Astrology & Mature Soul/Old Soul Soulmate Connections
Prominent Houses regarding soulmates and soul age are angular houses, namely. Planets (daily myths) are accentuated in houses: 1, 3, 7, and 10, especially if they are at the beginning of the house.
Myths of our lives (planets), past and past lives versus future and future lives (nodes of the moon), new myths (the 4 asteroids goddesses), and/or humanitarian and personal missions (prenatal solar or lunar eclipses respectively) are magnetically and/or harmoniously related to the soulmates’ birth planets. Either or both partners’ planets, etc., fall into one or more of the Angular Houses:
First House — house of the self. Harmonious or conflictual angles for growth channeled through perspectives of relationships to oneself or from a partner. For example: Partner A supports Partner B’s self either as a peer or mentor.
Third House — house of the mother, nurturing and home. When a partner nurtures the other partner or there are mutual nurturing characteristics of one or they model both mothers. It creates a feeling of home. Example: One or both partners are magnetized to nurturing one another.
Seventh House — house of the other, intimate relationships, partnerships of business, love. or soulmates. Harmonious, neutral and/or growth relationships, intimacy issues and love flourish.
Tenth House — house of the meaning of life (and perhaps purpose). They can also relate it to career(s). Meaning and /or career may include a partner and originates with personality or ego. This house moves mundane purpose to a Higher Purpose where Spirit may provide a soulmate or partner of not. Trust in Spirit.
Will Older Soul — Soulmate Relationships Work?
Throughout the rest of your lives?
Whether you are a sleeping old soul or an awake old soul depends on your spiritual practice or practices, what level old soul you are and whether your personality/self/ego is cooperating with your soul self.
The Older the Soul you are, the greater the level of trust you have in the Highest of your Higher Selves and or Spirit that takes care of your needs. This means:
Do your work and the Universe will care for you.
If you insist on invoking your will here are a few guidelines for a longer lasting soulmate relationship (suggestions for Mature and Old Soul Ages):
- Timing. You may already know that timing for meeting your soulmate doesn’t come from desire alone. Your Higher Self or High Vibrational Guides may assist you. Making Sacred Space and used of Full-Bodied Affirmations are also important. You can cross-reference your intuition with an Astrology Reading either through transits of the sun and planets in space with you Birth Chart. Or you can look to you Progressed Chart, what you are working on now, in two ways: a possible predictive tool, or confirming whether the person you have met is a short or long-term possible soulmate.
- Recognize what feels familiar (as in family). Have you worked on issues with your opposite and same-sex parent to know how you are with a prospective partner? Without this work, you may attract a karmic soulmate that relates to fixing one or both of your parents and may end in failure. Work on this if you want a better chance of long-term success with your soulmate. Also, does your prospective partner need this same work? Are they doing it?
- All people, especially intimate relationships, whether or not you are soulmates; need a level of tolerance. Just make sure you’re not tolerating abusive language or behavior. We all need to employ a certain level of tolerance to “bear the unpleasant manifestations of others”.
- If you’re in what you believe is a soulmate relationship and you are holding out for their potential, then you are seeing their core while ignoring their personality. If they are not working to fulfill their potential on their own and/or with you, then you may be expending too much energy and hope on something that may never happen. Even if you are in couples’ therapy, for example, and they are not doing the work for themselves, the relationship may not work. Work environments where you are giving 120% instead of 100% is a red-flag for an unequal power relationship that can lead to burn-out. This may indicate an unequal power relationship. This may be something to look at.
- There are no right or wrong answers.
- Trust the Universe, your Higher Self and/or your Core.
