Soul in the desert

It’s raining

The desert cries out in joy

A long journey

You are praying.

How far…

How far is your home…

Tears and the rain,

Until the heat returns.

The wind blows

Night covers the dunes

You lay still

Barely breathing.

Can you move again

When sun comes up?

Do you have the strength?

Will He carry you home?

Perhaps it is your soul

Body as a vessel

Abandoned

That was the journey.

An end

A new beginning

Dove in the sky

Signals your goodbye.

And and traces

Are spread in the desert

With a gust of nightly wind

As flesh becomes the sand.

Tears dry up

And in their place

Joy and light

Upon your face.
