Were we meant to be alone You and I No family

Free of Fathers Mothers never met Yet Sisters Brothers grown

Then gone

We are the last

Remainders Of a distant past

Lean on each other Lest we fall

Into the pool Of pity me

Stand tall old soul I’m here with you

Together Walk the path Our chosen destiny

Past lives Uniting

Holding on

Finding others Fragile too

Awaken Stretching Bridging Lifetimes

Connect once more The door is open

The inspiration for this poem arose from my partner and I reminiscing on a song which helped us overcome a difficult time in our lives when he was wrongfully arrested and detained by the police in 1991.
