Summary

A poet responds to a challenge by Martin Rushton to write about the medieval era but humorously admits their inability to do so, instead pivoting to a new prompt, "Carnival," for their poetic circle.

Abstract

The web content describes a poetic challenge initiated by Martin Rushton, where participants are asked to compose poetry on the theme of 'medieval'. The author reflects on the brutal aspects of the medieval period, such as monsters and witches, but humorously confesses their struggle to produce content on the given theme. Despite the difficulty, the author maintains a light-hearted tone and decides to redirect the prompt to "Carnival" for ten selected friends, extending the creative exercise. The post also includes a call to join a larger poetic endeavor, "The Never-Ending Poem," and invites all friends to participate, emphasizing inclusivity and the continuation of the poetic chain.

Opinions

  • The author playfully acknowledges the challenge of writing about the medieval era, suggesting it's not their forte.
  • There is a sense of camaraderie and community in the poetic challenge, as the author tags fellow poets and encourages participation.
  • The author seems to value creativity and the continuation of artistic expression, as evidenced by their decision to introduce a new prompt rather than decline the challenge.
  • The inclusion of "The Never-Ending Poem" indicates the author's support for ongoing collaborative writing efforts.
  • The author's tone suggests a preference for a more festive and contemporary theme, "Carnival," over the historical and possibly darker medieval theme.

@Martin Rushton That rude poet’s game is on,

his challenge turns on creative power of brain,

tagging ten living poets @ medium, he challenges to write a poem on prompt ‘medieval’, to keep the poetic chain immortal,

should I talk about those ruthless monsters of medieval times and their blood-stained swords? or about the witches who swept the mighty kings with their spooky hats?

Hah! Y’all might have known by now, I can’t write anything medieval or anything on medieval or even go medieval,

I fail!!!

My prompt for ten chosen friends is Carnival…

Martin Rushton Martine Weber Alex Kilcannon Muhammad Zunair Sumera Rizwan Vinitha Dileep Manasi Diwakar Gurpreet Dhariwal Ayasha Khan R Tsambounieri Talarantas

There are many many friends, all are welcome.
