Summary

The website content details the inspiration behind a fiction series titled "Wife Imprisonment," which explores themes of domestic abuse and Stockholm Syndrome, inspired by a song written by the author's brother-in-law.

Abstract

The "Song Story for Wife Imprisonment" is a narrative by the author that has garnered significant attention for its raw and transgressive portrayal of a woman held captive in a cage by her partner. The story, published in Redemption Magazine, delves into the psychological transformation of the protagonist and is labeled with the main tag of "Stockholm Syndrome." The inspiration for this series came from a song performed by the author's musically inclined brother-in-law, which vividly depicts the scenario of a woman being caged. The author emphasizes the series' erotic nature and well-choreographed plot despite its dark themes, including domestic abuse, non-consent, and violence. The song itself, titled "Woman in a Cage," is described as entertaining and amusing, contrasting with the serious tone of the story it inspired.

  • There is a recognition that the series is controversial and includes numerous content warnings due to its intense themes.
  • The author admits to finding the brother-in-law's song both inspiring and indicative of his unique musical style that is not mainstream.
  • The series is noted to have realistic characters who, in the author's view, "deserve each other," suggesting a complex dynamic within the narrative.

Song Story for Wife Imprisonment

The Inspiration behind my series about a woman kept in a cage

My latest series on the fabulous publication, Redemption Magazine, has received quite a lot of love. Which has made me happy as it is very transgressive. Even brutal in places. But I am a believer that stories should be told and don’t have to have happy endings or be all sweetness and light. Although, I do like a bit of romance now and then :-)

The plot tells what happens when a guy decides his woman has stepped out of line once too often. So he builds a cage and then locks her in there for an undefinable length of time. She loses track of the weeks that pass by and her mindset undergoes many changes along the way. The main tag for the story is: Stockholm Syndrome.

Stockholm syndrome is an emotional response. It happens to some abuse and hostage victims when they have positive feelings toward an abuser or captor. WebMD

When I think about all my fiction, I truly feel it stands up as a good piece of work. Better than The Curse, which is now on ebook.

But… It is a tricky little series. Full of domestic abuse, non-consent, cheating and violence. It does contain many content warnings along the way. Come on, it is about a woman in a cage! But it is also erotic with a well choreographed plot.

I would like to tell you what inspired me to write about a woman who has been imprisoned in a cage.

The Inspiration

I have a weird and wonderful brother-in-law. I wrote a little about him here — or rather, mentioned he used to have his own dungeon.

Both he and my partner are very creative musically and have been in bands together in yesteryear. And my brother-in-law writes the kind of songs that I love but are just that little out there — so never destined to be well known.

Anyhow, a few years ago I went to see him play in Glasgow and he sang this song of his. As soon as I heard it, I knew it had to be a story.

Woman in a Cage — The Song

Written and sung by my brother-in-law…

In my back room below the stairs

Where no one goes and no one cares

I share my pain, I vent my rage

And when I sleep I keep my woman in a cage.

In my back room

I get dressed up like Doris Day

And when it’s time

I climb aboard the Deadwood stage(whip crack-away)

My woman in a cage

You’ll never see a menage like this

on a problem page

It’s just a fantasy

My real life agony Aunt might beg to disagree

Except of course she can’t…

In my back room I make the rules

I make her scream

Until she drools

We’re not in love

She’s on a wage

(I’m twice her size. She’s half my age)

It works for her

It works for me

I keep my woman in a cage

In my back room…

Listen to the song here…

The song is very entertaining and amusing. My story less so… I took the general idea of a woman in a cage and added a few realistic characters. Who, to be honest, deserve each other.

Out of all of that came — Wife Imprisonment.

The final episode will be out on the 28th Feb 2022. But when ever you are reading this — all the series will be found on the page you get to from the link below:
