Song Lyrics
#26 of 31 days of May SCWBI Challenge – A Haiku for you

Lost in beat and words
Take me to another place
Endless layers heard
Just like words I read depend on my awareness, perceptions and energy in the moment, the meaning of lyrics hit me differently each time I hear them.
They can trigger me back to a memory, person or place.
Or they can spark a layer of meaning I hadn’t thought of before.
Sometimes I hear the true lyric and laugh at myself for singing the wrong one for so long.
There are times I find myself in tears.
Other times I find myself jumping around like a madwoman and head banging - not hearing the lyrics at all… although the neck doesn’t recover as quickly these days.
Music. Love it best served live, but any way it’s delivered, it has and always will be a big part on my life.
Instruments are scattered around our little house, secretly waiting for my girls to play and fall in love. No pressure… just subtlety guiding!
I had organ lessons as a kid, Mum’s instrument of choice. Years of them in hopes to have the promised reward of a drum kit.
As sports and other life interests popped up, my time and patience for practice waned.
A beloved second hand drum kit was gifted by a group of family and friends for my 21st… Mum was right though, my commitment wasn’t there.
I promise myself I will get back into practicing… one day.
