“We can continue to be aware of ourselves and our breathing. With the sun of awareness shining in us, we can avoid most dangers.” Thich Nhat Hanh

Most of our fears and anxieties are created in our minds by our emotions. By being conscious of our thoughts and feelings we can detach from our emotions.

That doesn’t mean we don’t feel things or care about things, but we don’t allow those feelings and emotions to control us.

How many times have you gotten mad and lashed out only to later regret what you said or did?

I’ve done it plenty of times.

Being conscious of our thoughts and emotions allows us to use them to our advantage rather than our disadvantage.

Take a deep breath, take a walk, remind yourself you’re in control.
