A while ago, I attended a wedding ceremony of a couple of friends of mine.

After leaving the church, the bride decided to throw her bouquet over her head, so that one of her girlfriends could take it and have some luck.

Then, a remarkable thing happened. All girls, including me, stepped away and the bouquet fell on the ground. Everybody was surprised and disappointed, but it was even more shocking considering that it was a spontaneous reaction.

Later during the day, when I spoke about it with the other girls, we all found out that we thought the marriage was not going to work, and that the bouquet might bring bad luck to whichever girl took it and married next. We didn’t want that bouquet.

None of us told the couple about our doubts, we didn’t dare and we couldn’t find the way. We even thought we might hurt their feelings, and we didn’t want it to happen. The couple never asked our opinion about the marriage, they were so excited and happy, and strong in their love.

When you decide to truly commit to a relationship, it is important to ask and listen to your friends. Very often, if your friends agree with your choice and like your partner, then he is probably good for you.
