Someone Translated My Medium Article to Thai and Put It on Their Website
Should I be honoured or offended?
I wrote an article last October. Better Humans published it and Medium chose it for further distribution. I used my own word ‘sweatxercise’ to define a micro workout of 1–2 bodyweight exercises that makes you sweat. I always have a watermark on all my images.
I made a Google search for ‘sweatxercises’ a couple of days ago and found something interesting. My article was translated to the Thai language and put on a Thai website. I found that it’s Thai thanks to Google Translate. They left my images intact.

How I should react? It’s a great question. People found enough value in my work to translate it into Thai. I am unable to evaluate the quality of translation. It was probably automated.
On the other side, it’s a clear copyright violation. My article’s text and images were used without my permission, in other words, stolen. I understand the website makes money on advertising.
