Abstract

The article discusses the disturbing trend of politicians not publicly condemning white supremacists, despite the United States' diverse population and the principles of freedom, justice, and equality. Do they condone their actions?

There should be freedom, justice, and equality

Although the United States is a nation of diversity, which includes many different races and ethnicities of people, there are white supremacists who proclaim superiority. They display and promote their hate, prejudice, discrimination, and racism.

Most political people are careful to condemn discrimination and racism so they say they are for equality and justice for all. There are some politicians who will not condemn white supremacists and their actions of hate and racism. They may not say that they fully condone the actions of white supremacists, but they do not condemn them.

A recent email from some Democrats said the following:

Just like his buddy Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis won’t condemn white supremacists.

At rallies in Orlando in early February, neo Nazis yelled anti-Semitic slurs at passing vehicles. They wore clothing with Nazi insignias and gave Hitler salutes.

Ron DeSantis refused to denounce these neo Nazis just like Donald Trump refused to condemn white supremacists.

And even worse, the press secretary for DeSantis just spread the dangerous conspiracy theory that these rallies were held by Democrats disguised as neo Nazis.

That conspiracy theory sounds like the Republicans who say that the Capitol riots of January 6, 2021, were conducted by Democrats.

The hate and violence in the United States are alarming. The fact that there is racism still rampant and that neo Nazis are continuing to spew hatred toward Jewish people is disturbing. Even more disturbing may be the issue that white supremacy is being accepted by political leaders.
