Some Of The Things We Still Say — Recap
Are you curious?
Thirty volumes, can you believe it? Who knew? Talk about growing legs. Much fun was had by many. As I’ve repeatedly shared, you guys made it happen and kept it going. I will always be thankful for that.
Let’s unpack this and see how much “buzz” it generated.
The series began on August 26th and wrapped up on October 10th. I shared 1,063 sayings with you. The thirty volumes generated 29,437 claps, 648 comments, and $214.00 total. That’s $7.13 per volume and $.20 per saying.
The total earnings would have been greater, but you already know that story.
To your credit, dear friends, you were mentioned 169 times over the life of the series. Take a bow.
As I mentioned before, most of these sayings were recalled while out and about with Finn. I would think of one, and if we were walking, I would say, “Hey, buddy, wait.” He would stop, and I would pull my phone and write it down. Some days, I would collect 10–15; others, maybe a few.
Other times, I would comment to a writer, or they would share a saying with me. Sometimes, and randomly, I would remember one or two doing something around the house.
I never knew where or when the muse would show. Funny thing. Thinking back over the years, I’ve used many of these in daily conversation.
A happy idiot using an idiom, huh?
Again, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Many of you tagged along and made contributions often, and that I’m excited about. I appreciate everyone who made this series interesting, entertaining, and fun.
Thanks for reading, dear friends.
