A Few Hungry Guests In Front of My Apartment
The monkeys were searching for food.

I am fortunate to live in an oasis in the midst of a monotonous, chaotic city. And in our lovely little place, green is everywhere you go. So, we see them very often.
They live in the distant tall trees, jump from one branch to another and always keep a safe distance from us. But on some rare occasions, they do come closer, intrude into our houses, and create a mess.
Have I told you that I’m talking about monkeys?
Yes — the restless monkeys who are — if you look closely — just like us. They stay together, look after their families, and work hard for something to eat.
Today, at around 1 pm, when I looked outside through the window, I spotted one monkey effortlessly climbing the building in front.
My eyes followed the monkey, and I saw it entering an apartment on the third floor. Of course, through the open window. I became curious as I had never seen any of them desperately trying to climb a five-story building.
I knew nothing about the reaction of the residents of that apartment as I heard no sound or shouting. But quickly, the monkey came out of the window. Then, with a Tarzan-like swing, it reached the ground and ran to the waste bins kept between the two buildings.
Then, I saw a few other monkeys as well. One of them was a toddler. And all of them were searching for some food to eat.
I felt terrible for them. What if I were that monkey — finding no food in the wilderness — desperately searching for something to eat — risking my lives going near to humans — only to keep myself and my little baby alive — Oh! I couldn’t think anymore.
So, I asked my mom whether anything we could give them right now. My mom gave me a few flatbreads. I took a few more. Then I went outside, and gently threw them towards the hungry monkeys.
The little one missed the catch but recovered quickly. With its tiny hand, it carried the food so adorably and started eating, sitting on the grass. The elder two monkeys took some great catches (better than our cricket players) and then concentrated on eating too.
I stopped for a moment and enjoy their act of eating. It was marvelous. I wish you could see that!
I am sharing this apparently not-so-significant event with you just to deliver a message.
If you find any hungry animals near you, please try to offer them some food. Don’t just turn your back and go away.
