Some Billionaires Spoke Out Against DEI

They are not for the diversity

Diversity is a part of life in the United States.

People are not all the same. There is diversity in the world and especially in the United States where immigrants from all countries have settled over generations.

There have been minorities who have not been treated equally in the past. Some programs were instituted to bring more equity and justice into the lives of people who may have been thought of as different.

DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. It has been intended to give an equal chance to people who may have been held back because of racial issues.

The Washington Examiner had a story by Asher Notheis with the title “Growing number of billionaires speaking out against DEI.”

A number of billionaires are speaking out against diversity, equity, and inclusion in the business world.

The statements some billionaires have made come after many businesses have put a focus on DEI in recent years, though many areas in the United States have cut their ties with the movement. Several companies in Big Tech, including Google and Facebook parent company Meta, also have cut down on jobs added as part of DEI initiatives.

Some people feel that DEI is reverse racism or discrimination against white people.

Some billionaires who spoke against DEI are:

Bill Ackman, a Harvard graduate, who said: “DEI is racist because reverse racism is racism, even if it is against white people (and it is remarkable that I even need to point this out).”

Chip Wilson. the founder of Lululemon, spoke out against the company’s focus on diversity. He said the brand should have some exclusivity to be successful.

Elon Musk, owner of X formerly Twitter, said: “DEI is just another word for racism. Shame on anyone who uses it.”

Vivek Ramaswamy, a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said: “I think if we restore true meritocracy in this country, and embrace true diversity of thought, chances are we’re actually going to have a bunch of different shades of element, and a range of genders and different positions.”

Civil rights have been a major concern over the years. Racial minorities have not always had a fair chance in life. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are matters within civil rights which try to bring more justice. Some programs were designed to attempt to bring more equity and justice to the world.
