Some Beautiful Bird Pictures

Let’s see birds from my lens, Part 1

Over the years, I have taken pictures of several thousand birds from hundreds of species. Let me share some.

Osprey are great fishing birds. I often see them devouring fish perched on a tree branch or poles. This was near a fishing lake on a hot summer noon.

When we think of crows, charcoal-black plumage comes to mind. But many corvid members are colorful. This scrub jay is blue-gray and white. I often see them in the wilderness of the Southwest USA.

There was a wetland near one of my previous residences. In winter, numerous migratory birds gathered to forage. This sandbar in the middle of the bay had been populated by several thousand gulls.

Once, on a visit to a local park, I got lucky to see this flock of glossy ibis foraging on the lawn. It was a rewarding experience.

This pelican was having some alone time undulating on the blue waves of the Pacific Ocean. Though I often see them in flocks, who does not seek occasional solitude?
