So What is Squirting?
If you’ve ever watched porn you’ve probably seen a woman squirting. It’s usually depicted as an over the top event that’s a lot louder than it needs to be. Squirting is usually described as the female equivalent to a man cumming but it’s actually not.
First off, a woman can orgasm without squirting. You’re not failing if you don’t make a mess. You can also have sexual gratification without orgasming. So no, it’s not the same thing at all.
Squirting is the kind of thing you strive for but it’s not necessary. And for those who can achieve it, it can be very confusing.
Why?
Well, it’s just really hard to describe. Even for those who can manage it, it’s not something you can really describe. If you’re like me you probably Googled it the first time you achieved it. Basically what the internet says is it’s like peeing, but it’s not peeing, but it could be peeing.
So is it peeing?
Uhh, yes? Ish? Kind of. See, squirting involves all the same body parts. It’s not like being on your period, you are literally using the bladder for this function. In fact squirting contains urine. So yeah, you are peeing, I mean, a bit.
So how do you tell the difference?
Some people can tell by the smell. Pee smells like pee. Squirt often smells very different, it’s sort of like cereal milk. I know, it’s a bit odd but it’s true. It just smells very different from urine.
It can also look different. Of course that’s a bit of a misnomer. Urine can be clear, it doesn’t have to be yellow. Squirt is often cloudy but it might not be enough for you to tell the difference.
The easiest way to confirm if you’re squirting or peeing is to simply pee before you engage in any sexual activity. If your bladder is empty the chances of you peeing are much smaller.
But does it matter?
See that’s the real question. Yes, there’s a difference, but not everyone can tell. Some will say there’s a distinct feeling in the release for squirting but it’s hard to describe if all you can say is it feels good to release. So does peeing. And we’re not even talking about people who find it sexually arousing to urine during sex. In general peeing can make one feel relieved. It’s not a great criteria for how to feel good.
In porn, actors don’t necessarily need to even squirt. On screen it’s them screaming their way into ecstasy but in reality the director just wants fluid release. It can be either or as long as it looks good on camera.
For someone who’s not paid to release fluids how do I know if I’m doing the right thing? There’s no pressure to choose the right one. But that’s what’s important, there’s no pressure. Who really cares what’s happening so long as you’re satisfied? If you aren’t a scientist it probably doesn’t matter that you aren’t differentiating between the two. Just enjoy yourself. And maybe invest in a sex blanket for those really fun times.
