So Can I

A Poem

I am the buoy. I am the anchor. The safety net you wish for.

I am like everyone. I am no different, having the same needs.

Yet the symbiotic connection I was hoping to sustain, it is now gone.

Who was the culprit? Who was the destroyer?

Is it you? Is it my ADHD mind? Who knows?

Time is an unkind master. Unspoken words and thoughts took away our joy. Resentment is all that’s left.

But I am glad to realise it now than later.

And as an eternal optimist, I know I will be alright.

There will always be a key that fits our lock. You can find yours, and so can I.
