Summary

Fox News has stopped airing MyPillow commercials due to a payment dispute with CEO Mike Lindell, who is also a prominent election denier and supporter of former President Trump.

Abstract

Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow and a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, has faced the cancellation of his company's commercials on Fox News amidst a financial disagreement. Despite Lindell's claims of a potential attempt by Fox to silence him, Fox has stated that the commercials were pulled due to unpaid bills amounting to as much as $7.8 million. This development marks a significant shift in the relationship between Lindell and Fox, which had previously been a major advertising platform for MyPillow. Despite the setback, Lindell asserts that MyPillow continues to run ads on Newsmax and maintains that his company is financially stable. The situation reflects the broader financial and legal repercussions Lindell has faced since publicly disputing the 2020 U.S. election results.

Opinions

  • Mike Lindell believes Fox News may be trying to silence him by canceling his commercials.
  • Fox News attributes the cancellation of MyPillow ads to Lindell's failure to settle outstanding payments.
  • Lindell acknowledges the debt to Fox but suggests it is within his credit line, implying the dispute is not solely about non-payment.
  • The article implies that the once amicable business relationship between Lindell and Fox News has deteriorated.
  • Lindell remains defiant, claiming MyPillow's financial health is strong despite the loss of Fox as an advertising channel and the withdrawal of his products from some retailers like Walmart.

Mike Lindell had a lot of commercials on Fox.

The MyPillow guy, Mike Lindell, has been a friend of Fox News and Trump. Lindell was running a lot of commercials for MyPillow on Fox.

Many people saw the MyPillow ads on television long before Lindell became known for his support of Trump. His company must have sold a LOT of pillows with him doing the advertising personally on commercials.

The Associated Press had a story by Steve Karnowski titled: “Fox News stops running MyPillow commercials in a payment dispute with election denier Mike Lindell.”

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — MyPillow chief executive and prominent election denier Mike Lindell said Friday that Fox News has stopped running his company’s commercials, disputing the network’s assertion that it is simply because he hasn’t paid his bills.

Fox had been one of MyPillow’s biggest advertising outlets, possibly because Lindell was a strong supporter of Trump. Lindell had been a visitor to the White House and was photographed with Trump. He became a strong election denier in support of Trump.

Lindell said that he did not know why Fox canceled his commercials but that he suspected the network was trying to silence him. Fox said it was because he had not paid his bills.

Some retailers such as Walmart have discontinued Lindell’s products. He has had financial and legal problems since he has been denying the 2020 election results.

A Fox spokeswoman said that they would be happy to accept the advertising for MyPillow as soon as they pay the money owed to Fox.

Lindell has acknowledged that he does owe as much as $7.8 million to Fox, but he says that the amount is within his credit line with Fox. MyPillow has spent an average of $1 million a week running ads on Fox. That is a lot of money to be spent on advertising which means the profits had to be large.

Fox and Lindell had appeared to be friends with a business arrangement. That does not seem to be the case now.

According to Lindell, MyPillow is doing well and is still running ads on Newsmax, another conservative network.
