Fiction Shorts Drabble — Day 90

Snowman Thoughts

Why does he visit us?

Today’s word is winter

A drabble is a piece of fiction, exactly 100 words long.

I asked Mommy who built the sad snowman, but she only furrowed her brows.

Maybe he is only here to visit. I hope he won’t stay all winter.

When the first snowflakes drifted past the window last morning, the snowman waited in the yard.

You are supposed to build them a smile, with little stones or twigs, but for this one, they forgot.

The snowman doesn’t smile — sometimes he blinks.

Mommy says I’m imagining things, but when I look out the window late at night, I see him crawling through the snow.

They forgot his smile and gave him teeth.
