Snowfall and the Sweet Heart
Connected Through Winter’s Beauty
The snowflakes drifted softly down Blanketing the quiet town As she looked out through the pane Wondering when he’d come again
It had been weeks since his last visit She missed his smile, his charming wit The roads were covered pure and white Would he make it home tonight?
She stoked the fire, brewed a pot of tea Trying to keep worry from troubling her heart’s sea Just then a rap came upon the door Her face lit up at the one standing before
His cheeks were rosy from the cold A bouquet of flowers held in hands worn but bold “I came as quick as the snow would allow Forgive me, my love, for making you worry now”
She took the blooms, breathing in their sweet scent Leaned up to kiss him, her caring intent “You’re here, that’s all that matter to me Your presence alone keeps my heart cozy and glee”
He took her in arms, warming her through Sheltering her love, steadfast and true “Where you are is where I long to stay Your warm heart keeps winter’s chill far away”
So as snowflakes fell in the night’s blanket deep Their hearts intertwined, love they did keep Two souls entwined, fueling each other’s flame Finding warmth and shelter, together, just the same
