Tall snapdragons grow vertically, Seen them do just that in son’s garden, Kale is behaved just grows delicious leaves.

Bright Idea!

I’ll just put snapdragons and kale together in LED Garden away from vanilla vine, Second garden beautiful light well watered and fertilised, What could go wrong?

What went wrong?

Experience with Vanilla vine and growing seedlings LED Garden encourages fast luxuriant growth.

Overplanted snapdragons, All seeds germinated, Grew very fast loved light drank water devoured fertiliser, Growth unleashed, Some snaps grew straight and blocked others.

Snaps started exploring every possible way reaching for light, Grew between and around pots, Explored trays, started growing in kale and then flowering.

Thought everything swell with stunning pics, But under leaves and flowers Kale unhappy, Spotted some fuzzy mold and rotting leaves.

LED Gardens create semi-tropical micro-climates, Requires very careful cleaning, Despite efforts Mold kept on re-appearing.

Snapdragons almost season’s end, Worried about kale, Decision forced, Cleaned out snaps, Woody stems to son’s composter, Soil taken to council recycling, Fabric pots scraped and washed sun dried ready for re-use.

Re-arranged kale, Carefully checked for any mold.

Kale Recovering

Kale in full light. Today decided to harvest leaves for frittata treat, Spotted sprouting near base of every kale, Just breathed sigh of relief, Further more no sign of mold, Blessed by Gaia!

Next Season’s Snapdragons

I look at my beautiful pictures and can’t wait for next season.

Have two gardens, Maybe four pots of snapdragons, After all with my experience what could possibly go wrong?
