Yeah, patriarchy and rape culture are real, but who cares?

Women, primarily, are the ones who care about ending gender injustice.

This is too bad, because until all people care, it probably won’t go away.

Somehow, domestic violence, rape, harassments, pay gap, pink tax, body positivity, femicide, autonomy, and even child care have become women’s issues.

These are human rights issues.

The world is far better with equal opportunity. Even if it is only for the sake of easing resentment. If you hate the word “feminism” call justice and equality “turnips, or daffodils, or Brand N for Natural altruism.”

Call it whatever you like, just don’t fight for injustice.

We have structured a fake hierarchy. Then we set it on rinse and repeat.

It is fake because it is largely a social construct. Historical evidence suggests that women were once, or at least many times, equal in roles and relevance. Some were revered as goddess. Some were on councils or tribunals that represented all voices. Sexual power was highly regarded, not vilified.

Older women were sages. Younger women were warriors and hunters. Maternal women simply made our species exist. As primary guardians of the home and exchange, women drove agriculture, pottery and textile -craft that led to commerce. Record keeping led to writing, to Shakespeare, et. al, and later, digital code.

Men and boys were full partners.

Maybe a few got envious of this power.

They crafted gods in human image that ruled with brute force, guilt, or and/or by exploiting other people. Boys were taught this is strength, girls were taught they were inferior.

The struggle today is to win the world

The fake hierarchy, (often call patriarchy which triggers some) is a tragedy, because oppression, domination, and exploitation is now ending our known world.

Climate crisis and pandemic, extinction, and empire are directly related to domination and exploitation. Even those extraction industries (mining jobs) that gave us a trashed planet support thriving drug use, trafficking, and other sins of entitlement culture where the powerful rule the less empowered.

The biggest lie was to tell people they want stuff, rather than one another.

Women love men

Feminists do not hate men. In fact, our love for them is part of the reason that progress may be so slow. Most of us who have endured rape, and violence, remain married to, or at least, love, very many males in our lives.

We love men. Most gun owners are men, despite the sacrifice of our children for their preferred freedoms. They are not the enemy, but fellow victims of rigid gender roles, misogyny, homophobia, race hierarchy, and worse.

We already know that it’s #not-all-men. But all men participate (as most women do) in perpetuating systems. External. Internal.

The conflicting issue is more one of the reality that most men do not step up for equality. All people must demand it, all shades, all genders.

All who love life, must love liberation and justice.

Take for example, the simple fact that consent is an idea only a few decades old. It was formerly “normal” for boys to coerce dates for sex. A huge number of us were born this way. In many places, it still is the persuaded who is “blamed” — not the persuader.

Voting, owning property, child custody, and more, are also relatively recently won rights. Few, if any of these rights were gifted by men. In fact, they had to be hard-won, and fought for.

Luckily, females are strong as hell

Also fortunately, women will never, ever, back down.

Until every person has equal respect, and our Earth is given back to all of us who wish to live here in the closest thing to balance that we can find, we will continue to build networks and connections between all peoples and living systems.

Looking at life on earth from a factual perspective, clearly we are not ranked, but linked. There are no molecules and no systems that are unconnected.

Supporting one another, is a survival necessity.
