Abstract

e tempting option but hear me out. In this scenario, you wake up just 30 minutes earlier. Now you find yourself with an additional half hour to go through your morning routine at a slower pace. Suddenly, you can take a longer shower, you can enjoy that much-needed cup of coffee, you can go on a morning walk if that’s something you enjoy, or you can finally deal with that pile of laundry! Those extra 30 minutes just made your day more productive and gave you time for your much needed, self-care.

2nd Stop:

“A Day at the office” — — John spills coffee on an important document

Scenario #1-

Frustrated, you lash out at your colleague before he even had a chance to say a word. “Are you serious? Small changes, Big impact

Not to sound cliche, but all little things matter

Photo by Ian Parker on Unsplash

In life, it is often the small changes that have the most significant impact. Yes, I’m about to refer to the Butterfly Effect! It’s that insane notion that something as small as a butterfly flapping its wings in one part of the world can set off a chain of events, leading to significant consequences elsewhere.

That said,

Embark with me on a journey through concepts where even the tiniest alteration can change our course, leading us to unexpected destinations.

Or,

Read this article about choices we make during our daily routine and how a small change can lead to a different outcome.

Same scenario, different perspective.

We might not realize it, but the way we think has a great impact on our perception of life.

1st stop:

The process of waking up

Scenario #1- Alarm Snooze

We’ve all been there (if you haven’t, I bow to you in admiration). “Just 5 more minutes” can lead to another 5 more and before you know it, you wake up in a rush grab your socks in a hurry and are now dealing with a domino effect of lost keys, rush hour traffic and spilled coffee. And by the way… that seemingly small decision of grabbing your socks in a hurry? Now you have to deal with mismatched socks for the rest of the day! But then again, who knows, maybe you just created the next fashion trend! Or you’ll just make many people laugh at the office. There’s a bright side to it either way.

Scenario #2- Setting an early alarm

I know snoozing that alarm clock tends to be a much more tempting option but hear me out.

Why can’t you be more careful? You had to squeeze through here? How about you put a lid on that cup? Do you know how long it took me to get this work done?” Tension fills the air. Everyone is on edge. Your colleague apologizes, but after that blowup you’re now labeled as a b* in his mind. And your relationship will never be the same.

Scenario #2-

“Ahh!!!” you gasp.

John looks at you with eyes wide open “I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry! Oh my god I’m so, so sorry!

You are a bit bummed, but… it happened! It’s not like he did it on purpose.

“Meh…it’s okay, shit happens. Ms. Jones will need to wait a bit longer for the presentation. I’ll just print another copy.”

John apologizes again and insists on buying you lunch to make up for it.

Next day, you gift John a sippy cup.

Everyone bursts out laughing. You just made their day!

3rd stop

Lunch Break

Scenario #1-

You put your food in the microwave. Suddenly, a disturbing smell of fish and cauliflower fills the office. You feel everyone’s eyes on you. You’re uncomfortable and “oops” is the only word you think to say. The smell lingers through the rest of the day. They sure aren’t happy. And while that meal was delicious, that cauliflower sat a bit heavy on you.

Scenario #2-

The grilled chicken salad with homemade dressing was so refreshing! Mary from Operations really wants to know the recipe for that dressing!

Well, you see where I’m going with this. Every day is full of choices, from the time we wake up till bedtime. Which by the way presents another two scenarios:

Go to bed early after a light meal vs late night binge watching and a bowl of ice cream before bed.

I’ll leave it up to you to weigh the pros and cons.

So, be cautious with your attitude and reaction towards anything life brings your way. Always keep in mind that the smallest actions can have a significant impact on your day to day and your life as a whole. Every word, every smile, every sneeze matters!

I mean…if a butterfly flapping its wings can cause hurricanes around the world, who knows what a powerful sneeze can do? Oh wait…never mind…bad example! 🤐

Life is like a bucket of Lego’s. You put the pieces together.

Keep that smile on my friends!

(ComedyChronicles I can’t talk about socks without thinking of you 😅)
