Slow Down To Speed Up Your Success

When you are going too fast, you will miss your opportunities

If you are like me, these days, your mind is racing at 100 miles per hour.

It is easy to let this happen for hours on end.

When we are thinking about so much all the time, it gets in the way of our ability to do what we need to do in the moment.

One of the outcomes of this pandemic has been the speeding up of so many parts of our lives. Also, our learning curves are very steep.

Going fast and our learning can be at odds with each other.

Slow yourself down to make good decisions.

Lesson to Learn

There is a reason why mindfulness and relaxation have become such popular topics. We all seem to need a break.

Often, it is from our racing minds.

When we get going so fast, we miss what is right in front of us.

We miss our opportunities to make a difference.

Slowing down is the key.

Finding ways for us to slow ourselves down is what we all need.

Answer for Me

It’s typical these days to find my mind racing.

It is not only distracting, but it is also counterproductive.

I have needed to catch myself in this ineffective mode of operation. Then, I can use simple techniques to get focused and productive.

When I find myself overly tired, I know that it is from trying to do many things or trying to think about too many things.

I use quiet times in the morning to meditate and pray.

I find breaks in my day to relax. I exercise daily to release stress.

I am experimenting with what works for me now — and putting it into my daily and weekly routines.

Actions You Can Take

Slow yourself down.

Slow your mind down.

Find ways that work for your focus.

Let yourself “do nothing,” so you can let your mind rest and make the new connections you will need to be successful.

When you are thinking about too many things, you cannot focus on the most important thing you must do right now.

Our minds — and bodies — need to be nurtured through work, play, and rest. All three are vital to your success. How will you give time to them all?

Daily Habits

Identify your priorities for today — and make time for them.

Calm yourself through moments of silence or rest.

Play more so your brain can make new connections.

When you slow down your mind and your body, you can accomplish so much more.
