Sleep As A Prelude To Death…

Are we just practicing for the big event?

(Composit by Author, © Todd B Harrington)

A brief visit to the dark side…

We do this every day. Until we don’t do it anymore.

Death comes in so many forms. For some, it is slow and painful, for others, it can be quite sudden and without notice. And then, for others, what started as a normal sleep becomes eternal.

Would we know the difference between death during sleep and a normal sleep?

We know we were sleeping when we wake up.

But when we go to sleep and never wake up, do we know the transition point between sleep and no longer sleeping?

Our consciousness shuts down when we go to sleep. It also shuts down when we die.

Seriously…in the case of death during sleep do we momentarily wake up, say “Oh shit, I’m dying.”, or do we just transition from sleep unconsciousness to death unconsciousness?

That said…is sleep just a prelude to death? Are we just practicing for the big event every night?
